As it stands Nunes will want go, the worry is this drags on until early next week.
No rush for City. They can sign him next week once he’s served his ban. He’ll be spending this weekend house hunting I guess.

Part of bidding under what a team wants is to see if the player starts to kick off and down tools as well. If that happens the club is somewhat forced to accept lower than they want

Surely they could have asked him to do that when they tapped him up for personal terms? [/EP]

We have just seen this happen though and Brighton just ended up getting 105m instead of the 70m Arsenal bid last Jan.

I can guarantee you he’ll be sold and it won’t be for the £65m we apparently want.

We always end up rolling over.

Palace might have ended up letting Zaha go for nothing, but at least they didn’t let the big boys push them around.
They let the player push them around instead.

Brighton gave Caicedo a new contract and you would think assurances that he could go in the summer once they had achieved their goals for the season which was getting into Europe. He continued to perform well and that led to an increased valuation. Win-win when it comes to that pair.

Asking Nunes to stick with Wolves for six months or a year to help us fight relegation is a different prospect entirely. You can see why City might be hoping he does down tools. It's not like Nunes has been setting the world alight as is, although it does leave us rather short when we consider the quality of replacement (assuming there is one).

As I said last night, City already know what the real price is. This part is just performative

Even though the liklihood of Hodge appearing in the first team increases significantly?

Does it?

Hodge is a very bad central midfielder but Matheus hasn't played as a CM for us in ages. No indication he was even in that discussion, we have 4 CMs and Hodge is #4 behind Lemina, Gomes and Traoré.

Looks like we never can get a really big value like other teams for our players, what is that all about?
