Yeah, I get that.

On its individual merit a bid of £65m (!) for Matheus is an absolute no brainer. Take it all day. He's been mostly shit and there's no indication we can play him where he's allegedly supposed to play. This in a normal world where we spend 50-70% of that money and spend it well of course, and we don't appear to live in that world for some reason.
On its individual merit, and on the evidence of everyone's eyes, £30m for Kilman was an absolute no brainer but Shi and Fosun gonna do their thing...

Why are you telling me that? I know. Hasn't got anything to do with this either.

£55m plus H Bellis I’d be happy, then a couple of more signings. I can dream

As it stands Nunes will want go, the worry is this drags on until early next week.

Second bid incoming according to ESPN but Wolves are expected to have to compromise on their asking price if a deal is to be struck.

Nunes will hate the club if it doesn't go through so you will imagine that it will happen.

Timeline doesn't make a difference at all if we're going to be as tight with the funds as it seems like we will be.

Why the fuck should we have to compromise on our asking price? Maybe they should compromise on their fucking offer price ? And if Nunes becomes disgruntled you agree to sell when we get what we feel we want and until then he plays to prove he's worth it.

I get that this is being slightly obtuse, but by rejecting their first offer we are making them compromise, at least to an extent.

...But we don't want a deal to be struck. That's the whole point.

A lot on Twitter living in the world of reject, reject. Then he stays and all will be good, reality is we end up with an even more fucked off player than before that’ll go in January anyway.

Is that honestly preferable?

If Nunes being a City success story is a sure thing, we damn well better make them pay for it.
No, but there’s a happy medium.

In this instance, Palace should have sold a year or so before he walked for free.

We don’t need to sell Nunes unless City stump up what we want. As far as I’m aware he hasn’t handed in a transfer request?

If it’s solely about the funds then they’ll end up taking around £55m anyway

If someone offered us £50m for Podence we’d all be pissing our pants and high-fiving.

Except it’s exactly the same thing.

Because we wouldn’t re-invest that money, either.

He hasn't..

Won't be any different to say, Caicedo in January. He had agreed terms with Arsenal but Brighton held firm on their valuation and rejected bids.

If Nunes does kick off then our position changes somewhat. Do you keep an unhappy player. I presume we have communicated to Nunes that we will accept a bid at £65m (the rumoured price of course) and until then nothing happens.

Not sure if I agree but see where you're coming from.

As others have alluded to, it wouldn't be a massive shock if he's basically had a "gentleman's transfer request" put in from day one.
