Didn't I read somewhere, a month or so ago, when Newcastle were waving their Arab quids around, that (maybe Neves) said he didn't want to go elsewhere in the Prem, only Barca?
Newcastle have never really been linked with him. The trusted journo's in that region gave a list of their targets, 16 or so players and not one was Neves.

He'll leave on a free next year if he doesn't go for a fee this year.
You don’t think he’ll sign a new deal?

From Ruben’s point of view, it must be a bit of a ludicrous scenario to be in. He’s essentially said goodbye to us twice and it’s looking like he’ll still be here.

He won't be here next season. There's no way a Prem club doesn't take him at the reported £30M. It's all good saying he only wants to move to Barca but if the only offer on the table is from, Spurs say, he'll take it.

This year he was a bit more clever on his words by basically saying I want CL football but I love it here, so its hard to say what will happen

We all know he wants to go but that is for personal footballing reasons, if Barca falls through and no one else tries for him at least we know we won't get a stroppy, can't be arsed player in the ranks

Must be driving the Estate Agent nuts!!
First he gives it us back, then he wants to stay in it,
Ey up! He's giving it back again....

I still think Utd will make a move for him. They are in a bit of limbo with the takeover bollocks of will they sell or not and United fans seem to think it will be resolved this week.
and it now being reported that the bid from Qatar seems to have been successful

It's been in the press that Newcastle have only £75 million to spend on transfer fees this window. I also read that they are looking for players who can unlock packed defences as they expect more teams to park their buses at St James Park this season.

Neves needs to move on for his own good. He should have gone last summer and I feel bad for him that he had to endure our shitshow of a season rather than playing in the Champions League where he belongs. I know he seems settled enough here but it is a bit of a travesty that he is not currently playing for a top team.

So not Spurs, then 😉

I've long thought Neves would end up at Juventus, but they're out of Europe and I don't suppose they have much $$$ either. Milan?

Thing is, I’m not sure who in the prem comes in for him

City - no
Arsenal - after rice and caceido
Chelsea - no
Spurs - maybe but they’ve never been linked
Liverpool - doubtful again
United - maybe
Newcastle - maybe

I don’t disagree if one of the above bid 30
He’ll be off. (Well, spurs are not certain but you get the point) It’s not a dead cert they’ll be in for him, though.

So, presuming the only way Barca get Neves is if we take players from them. Who from their squad would be worth us looking at?

None for me in a realistic world. They're either shite that they're trying to punt on for a good reason (and we've been there before) or players that wouldn't come here.

I suppose the good sign here is as much as Fati didn't want to come here, we also didn't want him here (according to Liam)

So either a sign we have finally learnt our lesson or Lop's has a strong grip on the final decisions on players so anyone we do get for a Neves deal, if it happens, will be on the approval of the manager.

Average players like Dest and Gonzalez would be my guess.

We've been linked with Ezzalzouli before but I've never seen him play.

Collado would also be on that list you would think.

All the above are over 21 and would take a foreign player slot.

Think we're best off telling Jorge to fuck off.
