Summer 2026 Transfer Window Thread

No idea if he’s good but a 34 year old no longer good enough for Rangers is not a great profile.

Under Nuno, he would have been a good option in the RWB role.
Would avoid now though. If its been decided you are too fucked to play against Falkirk and Co that is a huuuuuge red flag.

Although I remember when Jinks went against the majority on here and applauded the signing of Ryan Bennett.
Maybe he is a good judge of "meh" players and we know fuck all.

I’m hardly number 1 in the ‘James Tavernier’ fan club. He’d be alright as a squad option in the championship and wouldn’t cost much.

I do understand the negativity, though. He’s not a guaranteed starter at Rangers anymore and he has lost a bit of pace. Those are the cons. The pros are he’s experienced, British, relatively cheap, takes a good set piece.

My expectations of our recruitment team are really, really low, though which may explain why I’d be ok with it.

He went against the majority (and Jinky) last summer regarding our transfers too.....

And Lemina 😉

Never been able to defend even at Rotherham when they came up with us back in the day. Takes a great penalty though

Based on championship football, 5 years ago yes, personnally. But we weren't in dire straits then so 🤷 I called for Frimpong at that point from Celtic however, who is now miles above us.

Ricardo Pereira will be leaving Leicester on a free. That feels like much more like the kind of thing we will do.

He was quality when he first signed for them but had a lot of injuries of late.

It's 100% a priority position. I'm not writing Pedro Lima off on scant evidence so far but all the other RB/RWB options at the club are absolutely abysmal. I'm not even sure which one is the worst. Probably Doherty but the fact it isn't an obvious choice tells its own story.

Doherty, Hoever and Tchatchoua must be the three worst RB/RWBs in the PL and it’s not even close. In fact they are quite possibly the worst ever in the PL.

It's the fact that all three are at one club for me.

It's staggering they've all played in the Premier League this season but for the same club is mental.
