Scousers are called that, because the local dish they eat is a stew called scouse.

Geordies are because they were on the side of king George in the Jacobite rebellion against the Scottish king James, who wanted to take the crown.

Mackems are from Sunderland just up the road, comes from anything you want building we’ll make em.

Smog monster, monkey hangers, clay heads, sand dancers are derogatory depending on context I think

Brummies, yams( people from Wolverhampton and a bit of the surrounding area) yellow bellies ( Lincolnshire), are fine.

I can pm you with the dull details if you really want to know

These three would probably get me clocked over here, too!

Yeah pie eaters is Wigan. Lobby Gobblers is Leigh, who will be best known to footy fans of a certain age for Leigh RMI.

Smog monster is Middlesbrough again in the north east of England, it’s due to the chemical factories there and the slightly yellow haze over the place.

Clay heads are people from stoke, due to the pottery industry of Josiah Wedgwood.

Sand dancers is due to the 1920s influx of Yemeni natives moving into Whitburn just down the road from Newcastle, obvious a racial slur now, but acceptable then.

Hartlepool Monkey hanger is they thought he was a French spy, as you do, when he wouldn’t talk or give secrets away, they hung him!

That’s a north western local rivalry thing I’d guess?

I know the right response for Accrington Stanley is “who are dey? And the answer is “exactly” in a scouse accent

Yea I’ll shut up now.
Apologies for whipping everyone up into a coma with local nicknames of the north east.

I find this stuff endlessly fascinating tbh

Depends on his age in those three years and I haven't checked at all so will happily concede the point

Someone suggested Kelleher from Scouserpool. I'd be happy with that. Should count as Home Grown too.
That's what I was thinking for a good while ( might be green tinted glasses), see if he prefers being 2nd choice for his career or trying to be top man at slightly lower tiers, apart from too many vowels in his first name I can't see too many weaknesses, very good with ball at his feet

Monkey hangers is a great story

Looks way too slight for me and reminds me of Kepa.

No thanks.
