I think 'Jackeen' comes from the Union Jack - there was a time when Dubliners were synonymous with the Brits, and would wave their Union flags when the British monarchy came to visit. It's pejorative, but these days some Dubliners will refer to themselves as Jacks or Jackeens (probably not realising the origin).
