Drink Responsibly 😂 at the bottom of an offer like that is no defence.

As that poster is now out in the public domain, I would imagine plod will be all over the premises and if it kicks off it’s licence will be under threat.

Trust me, Stanley is one of the biggest shitholes in the north-east. Even worse than Coleshill 😜. One of the largest per capita drug and crime rates in the region according to someone I know who works in the town. Although that might need fact checking!

Also, with it being Co. Durham there's a reasonable chance that it's a fairly even split between Newcastle and Sunderland fans. So that could be fun.

You'll have to tell me where you stayed in Coleshill as you've lived a very sheltered life if you think its a shithole.

Crime and Safety in Stanley. Stanley is the second most dangerous medium-sized town in Durham, and is the 22nd most dangerous overall out of Durham's 169 towns, villages, and cities. The overall crime rate in Stanley in 2022 was 116 crimes per 1,000 people.

You should get a job working for the tourist board

I can't remember the name of the place, but I do remember that we arrived and the first thing we saw was what was obviously a drug deal going on, and the hotel we stayed was full of a bunch of leary chavs. So maybe we just caught it on a bad day! Though to be fair the food in the hotel restaurant wasn't too bad!

Personally found that a good little read. It made me rethink the logic that’s fundamentally underpinned my expectations of what might happen with Fosun. That’s been based on my own experience of PE, but this is a very different rationale which would render my calculations faulty (and my the conclusion that the club is of course ‘permanently’ up for sale and everything looks like preparing for exit). Of course, institutionally our owners are different, a genuine investment house, but nonetheless… Good to have my thinking challenged.

I suppose the difference is there's a level of jeopardy that exists with Wolves that doesn't with Man Utd. I mean make no mistake, they are shit (if we get our penalty at Old Trafford and score it, they're below us right now) but it's pretty much inconceivable that they'll get relegated. It's not a massive leap of non-faith to suggest that we might get relegated in the next 5 years. That happens and say bye bye to a massive chunk of the value of your asset overnight.

It's also football accountancy nerd stuff rather than anything rooted in reality, but Old Trafford clearly has a huge book value if they decided to move elsewhere.

Molineux effectively has a value of £0 for that purpose as Wolverhampton Wanderers do not and never will in our lifetime own the land.

Yep, that’s all correct, but lower income and greater risk is just why we cost less, to buy and run. Guess I’m interested in the different logic of just extracting value rather than making something (look) profitable for value on exit - which is what I crudely assumed would happen. And rather hoped would, albeit out of the far and into the fryer perhaps.

Unless Fosun totally stack it then we'll always be worth a lot more than they paid in 2016. Although as ever this is all on paper, it's worth what someone else will pay.
