The Football News Thread 2017/18 - everything not Wolves

That'll need to improve

Not really, it's all about scoring goals from the shots we have on target and our efficiency is clearly very high on creation of chances and goals (this is where the xG stat is actually quite useful). Seems to me we're actually pretty good.

Of course, as with all data there is the context issue. For instance we may well have had a reasonably low shots on target against Blues but we were never likely to lose that game.

I think I prefer this stat:

Championship Goals

1. Wolves 78
2. Fulham 73
3. Villa 67
4. Cardiff 64
5. Boro 61

It is sort of the one that actually matters

Brentford's shots on target to goals percentage - 26.3%
Wolves shots on target to goals percentage - 38.4%

Brentford's shots on target to goals percentage - 26.3%
Wolves shots on target to goals percentage - 38.4%

I think this would be a better way to rate a goalkeeper, too (i.e. % of shots on target saved), rather than the clean sheets stat.

Rúben Neves has completed more long balls than any other Championship outfield player this season.

473 attempted
333 completed
70.4% accuracy.

Karim Benzema on why he refuses to sing the French national anthem: "If you listen properly, La Marseillaise is a call to war, I do not like that."

Yeah, you could just use a mascot instead

Inter players are tonight playing with their Instagram names on the back of their shirts

Accrington Stanley promoted to L1. Massive achievement for a club of their size

Welcome back. They were the first ever not to be re-elected, weren't they? Or something like that.

They sent the exact same survey out last year. But then they had Koeman doing a decent job, so it was a non-story. More of an issue when you have a gravy guzzling egotistical cunt at the helm who treats the fans with disdain and plays abysmal football while considering himself to be this country's answer to Pep.

Everton fans despise him and rightly so.

I see Steve Walsh is close to losing his job there as well.
