The Football News Thread 2017/18 - everything not Wolves

Innocent until proven guilty.

But that doesn't mean that Bong shouldn't report what he thinks he has heard does it. Otherwise nothing would ever be reported.

I heard yesterday he was taking legal advice with a view to sue.
The very fact he was accused of raciat comments and there will still be people questioning him is the reason he should sue.

Ir's too eazy to start shouting racism.
Your grasp of the law despite it being highlighted to you time and again is comedic, but hey it doesn't match your view of the world does it?

It's fucking simple. The case hasn't sided with him. So suing over it is about as sensible as Cnut whipping the tide

He can sue if he wants if he thinks it will help protect his reputation. A court isn't going to side with him though because it is unproven.

Personally I'd be livid if someone publically accused me of racism, whether they were mistaken or making it up. I can see why he's done it, it's all about reputation.

Maybe he shouldn't throw around insults like an 8 year old if he's bothered about reputation?

Exactly. Why is there any need for any footballer to tell another that any part of them ‘stinks’? Twat.

Only somewhat related to this but what happened about John Obi Mikel's accusation of racism at Mark Clattenburg? Raised a furore at the time but I can't remember what, if anything, happened about it.

I think it was ended due to lack of evidence so no charge was made, pretty similar to this case.

The only reason Shelvey got his charge was because Doc, Iorfa and Borthwick-Jackson gave evidence.

Barcelona set a new La Liga record as a narrow win over Valencia extended their unbeaten league run to 39 matches.

"If you're celebrating now....clap your hands"

The fuck is that line!

I really hope this is true:

Me too. I might forward it any way.

More VAR shenanigans as a ref calls back players from the dressing room at half time to award a penalty in the Bundesliga.

I think the last line of the article by the reporter is telling, "I still think the penalty is debatable."

When are people going to stop believing reporters? These clowns are as well informed as the mensa candidates of the south bank choir. There is enough footage about that people can make up their own minds. (not a pop at you BD).

The implementation of VAR is abysmal at the moment at it is to the shame of football they can't work a simple system that works in other sports perfectly well.
