The Football News Thread 2017/18 - everything not Wolves

My parents have BT sport through sky. Is there a way of stealing a log in to watch it on my iPad or whatever

Yeah, should be able to. Did they sign up online? If so it'll be whatever they set as email addy/password.

I’ve no idea. I never New there was “BTgo” or whatever. If there is I’ll just steal that rather than pay myself...

You can only have two devices using BT at any one time but you could log in on a million devices if you want to.

Sky Go has the wonderful feature whereby if Windows has a major update, it thinks it's a new PC and tells you that you can't use it. So you have to phone them up and tell them to sort it out. Great fun.
I can't imagine ever needing to watch on many devices simultaneously but Sky's way of only allowing two devices that could possibly use it at any time is awful. There's only my mum and dad at home now but there's still 2 computers, 2 phones and a tablet between them but they have to choose only two they might ever want to watch anything on, well one really because my phone will be a perennial fixture. I used to monopolise the whole setup by having my laptop as the other device as my Sunday routine was usually lying in the bath after football and watching Super Sunday on my laptop but I had to release my stranglehold when my dad wanted to use it when working away.

BT sport on the other hand gives endless flexibility, my dad can use it on his tablet when he's working away, I can watch on my laptop here, we can both use our phones if we're forced out of the house against our will and I've even been watching the cricket for a bit this morning on the work computer.

Ok Steve, that's perfectly clear.

Outstanding work from both Steve and whichever intellectual giant is running the Twitter account.

We have to dust ourselves down, see what we have got and go again next week.

Keep plugging away and play for the shairt.

“I don’t want to make excuses

Oh good.

It was a bitter blow losing Keinan because of the impact he has had and the fact he is our only real No.9 now Jonathan Kodjia is not there.

Oh.

Worth noting that he spent £12m on Hogan less than a year ago and he was sat on the bench for this one.

We spent £13m on Costa less than a year ago and he was on the bench too.

For different reasons though...

Well, yeah. If Cav were out, then we'd have put Doherty on the right wing and then had a whinge...

Ipswich, the chairmans view.

“As I say, Mick coming on board, a feeling of wanting to take the coaching of the players that we had as far as we could, link that to Financial Fair Play, and that just made for a different way of budgeting for the club. “That’s been in place for two or three years now, Financial Fair Play, we’ve stayed within it and it’s now changing again in terms of the amounts of money available and you are seeing different sums being invested at the moment. “The answer to your question is it was never about ‘I just don’t want to spend money anymore’, it was more a case of we’ve got an amount of money we can spend to stay within the rules and let’s try and coach to get the best out of everybody we’ve got – which Mick and Terry (Connor) have done extremely successfully.”

Wtf are Bristol City playing at? Tweeting out any old bullshit rumours from their official account.

Although I'm all for them signing Jordan Hugill and his massive arse.

I noticed a while back that Man City do it too. Really weird

I'd guess they're trying to take some power away from agents by stirring the pot themselves.

A lot of clubs have a social media/rumours section on their websites now. A bit bizarre really but that what the KIDZ are into nowadays.

My very sketchy knowledge of Moneyball is that it's using the power of player stats over more conventional analysis eg the more you make first base, the more likely you are to win, so fill your side with guys with high hit percentages rather than HR's. So what is the footballing equivalent of that? If it's set pieces than the likes of Allardyce and Pulis have been playing that percentage game for years.
