The Football News Thread 2017/18 - everything not Wolves

Probably not seen most so I'll watch some of those. Quickly watched no1 - what a touch!! Would have been even better if the keeper fully dived the wrong way for it.

Cover up is perhaps the wrong phrase, it’s the FA covering their own backs because if they did investigate they’d be shown to be a bunch of out of touch dinosaurs.

Why are they out of touch dinosaurs?

Daniel Taylor reckons he is definitely being sacked, rather than him resigning as there is a second scandal.

Loved the Mancini and recoba goals, I remember them first time round!

If Sampson has been racially discriminating against Aluko it makes the celebration last night look massively inappropriate

Shocker of shockers, I think Weah's goal is too low on that list. What a fucking player he was.

Class quote from Buffon about Totti as well in there. Even for someone who wasn't able to watch most of those players in their prime (or at all), the names on that list are truly awesome.

There's also something nearly unbelievable for someone like me who has known the game for less than a decade to see names like Pirlo and Baggio on the backs of Brescia shirts.

That period of Serie A was majestic. Unbelievable amount of quality.

Its a seriously good watch nowadays too. Napoli are great fun.

Meh, he bundled through a few challenges, not what serie a is all about ;-)

Yep there’s clearly an explanation for the sexist, racist and homophobic behaviour and it’s absolutely not the FA’s fault at all. No, not at all.

Edit - my bad, missed child abuse of the list.

So not only have that pathetically covered up the investigation surrounding Aluko's claims, which is now going to the House of Commons I believe, they also covered up Sampson's wrongdoings in another job two years ago. And scarily, they are using the 'new found evidence' to sack him and further cover the current issues rather than realising how it reflects on them.

Absolute scumbags if I am honest Frank.

It isn't really that straight forward.

It is, though.

There is no excuse for the behavior of the (E)FA. None. Zero. And if the cover up story is true, and there's very little reason to believe that it's not, then heads should roll. It is beyond past time that we stop excusing bigotry.

Quite.

It's all coming to a point where there SURELY has to be drastic reforms.

I've never known a league be so far ahead of everything else for quality. It was crazy. Even when they had the three foreigners rule.

So glad I got to watch it growing up.
