Joey Barton sent home from Rangers until Monday after training ground bust-up

Now suspended for 3 weeks.

I'm guessing because he spent all his time over the weekend speaking with every media outlet and carying on the outburst that got him a few days off. Top signing by Rangers indeed

I'd wager that rather than cancelling his contract (which they probably can't afford to do in one hit) or trying to sack him for gross misconduct which would be a ballache to prove, they're trying to string the whole affair out so they can get near to January and someone in England will take him on for 18 months. You'd think it wouldn't be worth the hassle, but someone will always take the risk. He was decent for Burnley last season after all.

Story I heard is that after they got gubbed by Celtic, Barton went off on one saying this squad had only been beating shit teams in a shit league before he turned up so they needed to cop on a bit. Halliday pointed out that they beat Celtic last season so maybe Josie was the problem and it kicked off.

Repeated his line to Warburton when called in to explain himself (apparently also said his kids are older than this club, which will make Celtic fans like him if nothing else).

In terms of his performance levels, apparently he as been utter shite and after the Celtic game my Uncle basically ranted along the same lines I did with regards to Rohan Ricketts once. Doing stuff with Talksport over the weekend just added to it all.

He's now in trouble for betting. Apparently he put bets on Celtic v Barcelona.

Good to see Tyrone Mings in the Bournemouth side tonight. Horrendous injury and a year out as a young kid is a huge challenge to overcome.

Concur with that

Afobe also starts for them & for some reason (according to the BBC website) they have only named 4 subs - that could of course be crap info on the part of the BBC though

Emi Martinez getting a game for Arsenal tonight.

Benfica had a historic high revenue (€211m) & profit (€20m) in the 2015/16 season, inc. €35m for their Champions League run.

I was running a long Newbiggin beach, near Ashington in Northumberland, yesterday morning and I swear I saw Sir Bobby Charlton, walking next to the beach. There was hardly anyone else there. I don't know what he would be doing there, or if It was mistaken identity. It looked so much like him.

May have been up visiting family. A lot of the Charlton family are still up near Alnwick.

Anyone else wondering why Kompany continues to put himself through it?
Great player, but yet again an injury with no return date.

I guess 150k a week dulls the pain a little, rehabilitation is easier when cash rolls into the bank account rather than calling it quits.

Andre Gray gets a 4 game ban for something he said on Twitter 4 years ago when he was a non league player. What he said was pathetic, but so is this ban.

Andre Gray banned for four games after his historical Twitter knobendery.
