Doesn't surprise me, he saw fuck all when reffing us in the PL

Quite.

It was Permatan Marriner for the Aguero incident wasn't it? Another chancer, sent Henry off at Arsenal for nothing.

Despite thoughts to the contrary, referees are human and do make mistakes.

Halsey was either grossly incompetent or biased based on the number of 'mistakes' he made reffing our games. We totted them up once there were 7/8 massive decisions which he got wrong all working against us.
From the top of my head 4 were Doyle dragged back when on goal by Dunn v Villa no red. O'Hara fouled in the box v Newcastle, given outside. Hutton not sent off when conceding a penalty when fouling Milijas 3 yds out v Spurs. Stearman's disallowed goal in the same game

That was Hutton on Milijas. Also disallowed a goal by Stearman in that game because he had the sheer nerve to stand there while Gomes jumped into him.

Also Halsey who didn't send Fagregas off for breaking Stephen Ward in half

That was a fucking disgrace. I remember being absolutely livid at the time.

There are far too many referees who are incompetent or biased. Either way it should be a lot more easy to see them sacked and off the gravy train.

Can't argue with that at all, I couldn't believe the stuff referee's were allowing the big 4 of the time get away with. I still think the goal that pissed me off the most from our Premier League era was when Fletcher could have ran it into the corner then Park ji Sung goes up the other end and scores for United in the 96th minute

To reach level one takes a lot of hard work. While I agree there are occasions when the officials get it wrong, I think incompetence is too strong a word. And also in my 35 years involved in refereeing I have seen a few poor ones, but never a biased one.

"He's not that type of player" so wasn't sent off for a foul that would have got ten minutes in the bin at Twickenham. It happened far too often in our sojourn in the top flight. Whereas Milijas was sent off for a much lesser offence.

Mistakes will always happen at a lot of incidents happen at such a speed sometimes it is luck if they call it right. In those incidents that's life...however when you watch a guy about to tap in from 6 yards, open goal and then see him pulled to the floor and you state "it wasn't a clear scoring chance" then you (not you Frank) are incompetent.

If they have tried so hard and it can't be incompetence then bias is the only possibility. Halsey's "performances" must only be that. But sending Milijas off at Arsenal was pure incompetence by Atwell

And for all the reasons above the TV replays should be introduced. The same as Rugby and American football.

If it is true that Halsey was told to say that he didn't see a certain incident, then this is a matter that needs looking into as a matter of urgency. Halsey has made a very serious claim, and he needs to back that claim up.

I would also say the Refs Association need to investigate as well rather than their "nothing dodgy happens" statement.

Take the comments seriously and do something. If Halsey is a liar then there is no better person to be shamed.

The PGMOL is independent of the referees association, but I agree that they need to look into this matter. If Halsey was told to say he saw nothing, then others would have been told the same. The FA could and should now order an investigation into this matter. Either the PGMOL or Mark Halsey is lying. The truth is out there and needs to be found and made public.

Genuinely hope it is Halsey

Genuinely hope it is Halsey

Halsey says the PGMOL told him to say he hadn't seen a certain incident, but all reports regarding misconduct go directly to the FA. The PGMOL would of course recieve a copy, but it is not in their remit to take action on misconduct by players. They are there to try to improve the standards of the professional referees. When the FA receive a match report, all red and yellow cards are put on the system, and suspensions handed out as and when necessary. If the FA disciplinary committee are then made aware of an incident in a game which the referee has not reported, they will ask the referee if he saw the incident. If he says yes, but did not consider it merited further action then that is the end of the matter. However if the referee says he did not see the incident then the disciplinary committee have the power to charge a player. The PGMOL have no input in this process, so why would they tell a referee to say he saw something he didn't see, or vice versa?

If it wasn't in the report the FA wouldn't act on it would they? The PGMOL could have told Halsey not to put it in his report and subsequent action from the FA rendered mute as he would have said he didn't see it. That would require somebody at the PGMOL to have some sort of agenda.
