The Film Thread

I'm surprised Stephen King has allowed that. The original De Palma film is rightly a classic

Had the two part "Mesrine" through from LoveFilm. Watched part one - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1259014/ - last night. Really good. A lot of story that spans quite a few years. I really like that type of story telling. It's also refreshing to see a gangster film that's not set in America or involving 'The Mafia'.

It's worth a watch. Will take in part 2 in the next couple of days.

i've been meaning to watch that for ages. never been able to convince the missus. will definitely get round to it now.

have just about managed to persuade her to go see prometheus i think. i reckon it's taken me about 3 months to convince her.

It's quite violent, which really put my missus off, but she liked it too

I really enjoyed Mesrine. Bit overlong with the 2 parts but still really good.

Another French film that I really liked was District 13. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0414852/
Also very violent, has some excellent martial arts stuff and a really silly plot which doesn't hurt it at all.

Talking of French films I watched 22 Bullets the other week - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1167638/

Starring Jean Reno about a bloke who's retired from the French Mafia in Marseille but gets dragged back into it after they try to kill him and fail. Not bad, not great. Worth a watch though.

Went to see 'The Dictator' last night, really good.
Sacha Baron Cohen is amazing.

La Haine is also a very good French film. But do bear in mind it's produced in black and white, although pretty recent.

Saw The Avengers last night, cracking film. I have a question, however...At the end of the credits, the alien is talking to someone about Earth...who's he talking to? I missed the big reveal as I'd taken my glasses off and was half way out of the cinema when it happened!!

Just watched Genghis Khan on BBC 4 in the original Mongol (I guess) with subtitles. A truly amazing piece of film and I would recommend it to anyone. Superb.

There was no reveal, we don't know who he was talking to. My theory is that it is alternative Hulk related...

There's a red Hulk isn't there? Think he's a bit like a Banner/Hulk hybrid, gets the physical change but not the uncontrollable rage that goes with it.

Good film, really enjoyed the Parkour, made me realise how chronically unfit I am :)

When going to see American Pie: Reunion I saw a trailer for a film called Chernobyl Diaries, I love stuff involved with Chernobyl so i'm really looking forward to it! I do believe it's a horror and it's out June 22 in cinemas :)

Heard last night that they are doiing a remake of The Magnificent Seven next year with Tom Cruise playing the Yul Brynner part.

FFS is nothing sacred in Hollywood.

Watched 'Division III : Footballs Finest' last night. For a low budget comedy it's very funny.
