The Definitive TWF Worst Wolves XI Thread

Was it the Blackburn game when the ball bounced a few yards in front of Lonergan and he did a weird kind of bunny hop but got nowhere near it?

Alli remember from the Blackburn game was Lonergan hitting a steward with yet another accurate kick....the rest is just blackness.

Was it Brighton where he dived for a cross.?

Rare footage here of Lonergan attempting to claim a cross:

Not Lonergan....the dog got closer.

Yep. Big long ball downfield to no-one in particular. 99% of keepers would just come out and pick it up. Not Lonners, he sort of hopped on his line without moving forward an inch and one of our defenders had to put it out for a corner.

Good on crosses too.

Derby at home was his nadir. Four minutes in, takes a goal kick which doesn't even go 30 yards. Then after we've defended the ensuing situation in a fairly calamitous manner, he attempts some ridiculous Hollywood save to a header that's not even powerful or near the corner, and just palms it straight to someone three yards out. Thanks Andy.

I want to hear more about this spat with Mr gloves sister, must have happened before I joined, because I would have been winding her up for the hell of it

Boswell by an absolute mile

She just used to log on here to defend him, standard nonsense really, "I'd like to see you do better" (clearly mere mortals can never criticise films as after all, we aren't actors, and you must own a Michelin star before you send any unsatisfactory meal back to the kitchen in a restaurant), "you wouldn't say that to his face" (I would) "if he's so rubbish how come loads of managers have picked him" (this wasn't even true at the time)...didn't contribute anything else whatsoever. No posts on any other subject, just defending Matt Doherty in a really unconvincing manner (must run in the family)

Do we actually know it was her sister? And under which account name? :icon_lol:

Andy Lonergan - cant kick, biscuit wrists, no command of his area complete disappointment
Mick Kearns- Couldnt catch a cold
Paul Jones 2nd spell- hopeless.

Hansbury doesnt get in as he had been at Cambridge and done ok mid 80's and as we now have ( probably) 2 ex cambridge keepers just joined or about to join I am not going to jinx it!

Fun fact for you, I went to school with and played in the same cricket team as Mick Kearns' son. Was in the year above me. Wasn't a bad bowler, can't remember if I saw him try to catch anything...

Yes we do, Pilkoman, something like that. I'm convinced he put her up to it :icon_lol: The poor lambs don't like criticism.

The worst goalkeeper I ever saw making a living at a decent club was Stuart Kennedy at Rangers. The most one sided goalkeeper in history. He took over from another complete waste of gloves in Peter McCloy. Check out this perfromance v England in 1975. Awful positioning and no spring at all.

Wow :icon_lol:

I remember Alan Rough being as ropey as fuck for Scotland when I was growing up. Not that bad though.

Lonergan
Lange
Bartram

Only saw lonergan once made me think that I should have carried on playing after shattering my ankle, and only be able to dive one way, I could have made it as a pro if he did

My question would then be..how is he an international?

Lonners
Stack
Beasant

Christ, we've had some shite :icon_lol:

Just a question. Same time period as the best team?

If so, <pedant alert> Alan Boswell left the club in 1969.
