The Blame Game

Who gives a fuck tonight??

(I thought it was Bennett but I couldn't see the shirt number up the other end - oh well)

Honestly there is no blame in that goal, and to assign blame tonight feels not just unfair but actually a bit heading toward disgraceful.

Yeah, Coady the only man at fault this evening.

Bennett could have perhaps closed RLC down slightly quicker but that would be extremely harsh.

It looked to me like Coady took full responsibility for his mistake.

Blame is a little harsh in this case, but then again Doherty got hammered for his own goal header at Leicester which was a complete fluke.

I've not seen every angle, but it looks like with no touch from Coady and the Chelsea player is 1 on 1 with an easy placed shot? (also, did Rui call for it?)

Not even close to Doc's rediculous own goal. In fact it's not even an own goal.

I don’t think he did. Coady looked gutted.
Exactly. Only seen minimal highlights as on holiday overseas atm (slept through this game despite getting up at 4am for the last one thinking that was the winnable game!!) but from what I've seen, Coady couldn't do nothing. If it's gone wide, we'd be classing it as a great goal stopping moment just like the tackles of Boly and Bennett. Rather Coady went for it, guess he gets the blame but nothing like Doc's OG

He intentionally got his head on it and it went into the bottom corner, therefore in the spirit of the thread Coady has to take the blame

15 pages in and I’m labelled “disgraceful” for making about my second comment in the entire thread. Classic Paddy.

I just felt that way. Note I did say "heading toward a bit" rather than just plain old disgraceful so its not all bad.

I think you may need to start using the card system just to be clear!

Disgraceful = :icon_Yellow-Card::icon_Yellow-Card:
Fucking digraceful = :icon_Red-Card::icon_Red-Card:
Comment from Cyber or Jinky = :emot-fuckoff:

Noted! I just think it seemed harsh to allocate blame on the night of such a momentous victory. Anyway, no harm done I hope.

Is someone going to tot all these up for an end of season "Blamiest Bastard" award or something?

Further to my comment about Rui not giving Coady to leave the ball (as he saw it was coming right into his arms) and think he's nor particularly vocal anyway. There was an aimless cross from Alonso i think second half that Vinaigre wildy hooked for a corner when there was no-one near him, A simple call would have let the ball run harmlessly out for a goal kick.

Whilst a shout would have helped, Ruben lacked experience there, he should have been more aware of his surroundings.

He is is vocal. He made one shout last night from a cross that I heard from the back of the North Bank, so I presume Moutinho's ears are still ringing as he was stood in front of him. The Vinagre one, he got a shout about the time he had and he tried to avoid contact to turn on the ball but it hit his chest and then he panicked and sliced it away. He got shouts from Rui and Coady on that one

Agree- Maybe he can be a bit quiet. Perhaps he leaves lots of it to Coady it seeems. Even on Telly I see Coadys lips chattering away at his colleagues.
