Summer 2021 transfer window

Sorry Leon - we won’t be taking Hamza. Not surprised you are binning him off. Looks a right hot head with not a great deal of talent. I hope he does end up at Newcastle.

That suggests one of the three will be cashed next summer.

Saying that, everything points to an absolute boatload more wiggle room than the club are suggesting, even to break even.
Well they don’t have to sell any of those 3 (unless they want to leave). We can easily raise plenty of cash from MGW, Vinagre, Jordao, Giles, Sanderson, the Grasshoppers lot and then one of two of Coady/Boly/Kilman will be surplus.

Anyone who believes club fluff 100% literally deserves everything they get, to be honest. As I said the other day, what are they meant to say? "Well yeah, we'll probably be about 12th this season, hope that's ok". It's 4-5 year old quotes being made to use a stupid argument. Occam's Razor says they're an investment firm and unless they're a particularly rubbish investment firm, they were never going to endlessly pour money in.

Neves was never going for £40m this summer. Not to say someone couldn't have had him if they wanted. It helps us a lot that he doesn't really want to move, bless him.

You're right....
But you should also understand why my 'Leicester bias', has led me to think otherwise.

Fosun made the exact same comments about ambition, that our owners did.

Only your owners seemed to have come through with theirs. Ours were probably saying it through rose tinted spectacles..

Disappointed about MGW....seemed to be getting somewhere recently but if neither Nuno or Bruno fancy him as a first teamer then just sell him so we can move on and the lad can get on with his career.

Struggling to fit him in the 25 man squad.

So it's either Newcastle, or 6-12 months of lying on a beach somewhere....
I know where I'd choose.

I think we were looking at similar models, but maybe the league title which was as unexpected as it was joyous for all of us outside the sky six bar Derby and Forest plus the excellent champions league run gave your board a real taste and also a financial boost. It appears a Europa League quarter final didn’t deliver the same boost our end.

Leicester are also willing to speculate more than us. They have signed some stinkers too but the last four years they have sold a player for big money but still invested in quality and a 25 man squad. Our squad with regard to quality depth is no where near theirs . Their reserve keeper cost double our first choice I believe?

His entire feed for the last hour or two is....something.

Still the school holidays I suppose.

(NB: We really should be signing at least a couple of players, but I'll be leaving the chainsaw at home in a couple of weeks whether we do or don't. Unless we sign Guedes then all bets are off)

Sorry to derail, but this comment doesn't work any longer as kids can easily just tweet during lessons and breaktimes! 😂

It did make me oddly nostalgic for the old 606 forums that were significantly worse during the summer hols.
Ain't that the truth! Hopefully after today it'll calm down for a couple of weeks..

Not if we lose the next league game.

One thing I do like is anticipation in Leicester business.

They got Soyuncu in before Ed Woodward decided to give them the GDP of Greenland for Maguire. Now Daka is in place ready for when Vardy winds down. That’s smart stuff. There have been plenty of pups but also some good strategy.

I don't think Leicester were developing players to sell and reinvest it just happened that way. If you look at the big fees they've received Mahrez and Kante were both bought from France to little fanfare. Chilwell came through their Academy and Maguire was signed from relegated Hull. It's not some master plan, just how it's evolved

It appears they have a good overall plan. I don’t think we do and if there is one it’s based on profit for the owners rather than success on the pitch it appears. The ambition this window is underwhelming. Still time for a couple of Hail Marys but it’s not looking good at all . Lage has been euniched by his bosses this window, it appears. I don’t understand the thinking.

If we were to have an offer accepted on an overseas player at this point, would we even have time to complete all the particulars before 11pm? I've got no clue how it all works tbh.

Yeah, it's dead easy. All on one portal now, FIFA approved. No more fax machines running out of paper.

The medical can be done whenever.

All teams have that though, what would be considered a good transfer success ratio? Looking through here for last year few teams would currently be at 50‰ in terms of if the player was a successful signing to improve the starting 11, let alone before looking at fees and wages etc.
