The plan seems to be to use Wolves as the central node in a network of interconnected sporting brands (including esports). I think it's fairly smart, and don't doubt that it will succeed in increasing the value of Wolves-the-brand many times over in the coming years, even if sometimes individual investments within that network pay off. The question is what happens to Wolves-the-club at the centre of that plan, though. I don't think they'll have any interest in selling up any time soon (because they're just getting started in terms of that plan, really), but it also doesn't necessarily require vast investment into the club itself. I wouldn't be surprised if ticking along in mid-table was seen as an adequate holding pattern for the next few seasons, provided it didn't actively hurt any of the other avenues being looked at.
