Summer 2021 transfer window

Because not many clubs or players want to do deals earlier. They'd just be restricting their price/options.
And before anyone brings up Villa, what they did was spend money in advance because they knew they were selling their biggest asset. We aren't selling our biggest asset.

I repeat - I'm not going on a Comical Ali defence of the club here. We need to sign a couple of players at least.

I accept that but the bulk of your post was referencing the fact that people had said they think the way we were playing we can finish top half. I think it’s truly unreasonable to use that against them saying the club have fucked up the transfer window. It’s a pretty cheap and shallow argument whichever way you want to dress it up…
Well, people shouldn't swoon over three defeats in a row, should they. Then I'd be significantly less cheap and shallow.

Dear me. How pathetic.
Says the man who's been following me round for months posting laughing emojis on everything vaguely critical I say, funnily that same standard doesn't apply when you're unhappy about something the club have done.

Difference being I'll stick my money where my mouth is and pay to watch the club, so if you're not going to discuss things civilly then kindly fuck off.

I think perhaps we may also be under-appreciating the club's ability to keep hold of our best players, by and large. Jota is the only one we've moved on since promotion that you'd say we really miss.

Surely the later you leave it, the more you restrict options/price?

Day 1 of the window, every side has time to replace the assets they're willing to sell.
On the final day, their options are far more limited, and the increased prices reflect that.

Seriously (not you DW), people are losing their minds over a transfer deadline day that isn't finished yet! Why don't we wait till 11pm before the inquest. There is fuck all any of us can do about the clubs dealings in the market.
If we feel they have fucked up then give them both barrels. Until then patience is surely a virtue...

Jesus wept. Is the depths to which you’ve sunk?

What did I just say to you?

You're the one raging impotently at a club you never go to watch, under a new username you had to create because you flounced off the forum. Some fucking depths.

I thought it was standard practice to have a couple of people who did this for each user on the forum? I wouldn't worry too much ;)

It depends - not if there a more clubs wanting to sell than buy. French clubs are reportedly in big financial trouble and it might come down to who keeps their nerve longest.

The timeline thing also oversimplifies the process. Sure, some clubs get lucky and can seal deals early, but if it was actually that simple all the time then no club would ever make a purchase at the last second.

If it helps Jinks, I don't think I've ever laughed at anything you've said :D

I haven't got a problem with disagreement. Being snide for months, repeatedly referring obliquely to "prominent posters" and not having the nerve to actually name them, generally being unable to discuss anything remotely civilly unless you agree with them 100%, and all when I have far more investment in the club than they do...I've got a problem with that. I mean I also have a problem that he seems to equate the best manager we've had in 40 years with the likes of Saunders and Hoddle, but I guess opinions are opinions, as nonsensical as they can be.

So he can ignore me if he likes, but if he carries on then he can have it back doublefold, I've had enough. I wouldn't have it in real life and I'm not having it on here.

Lay off. Dan's first response literally had a laughing emoji.

There's no need to carry this on.
I think Dan is the one being abusive, uncivil and unreasonable here, maybe you should telling him to lay off?
