We've not really been on the receiving end of any particularly good value for ages though, and with the "sell to by, FFP" narrative being pushed, then income from transfers mattersAm I the only one who couldn't really care less how much we sell and buy players for? I've never been that fussed, but these days it's totally meaningless given the behind the scenes negotiations where you can get Moutinho for £5m and sell Doherty for £15m. Just find the hand-wringing completely tedious.
Yes and no. It’s impossible to compare transfers nowadays IMO with so many factors in the background. But if we are overpaying for players and as a consequence can’t invest in other areas/more areas of the team then it is an issueAm I the only one who couldn't really care less how much we sell and buy players for? I just don't buy the "sell to buy" narrative. We don't know what the budget is and I can't see why we would be deliberately over-paying and under-selling. We're owned by an investment firm. We've not really been on the receiving end of any particularly good value for ages though, and with the "sell to by, FFP" narrative being pushed, then income from transfers matters
Nope you're not the only one, however even though I find the back and forth arguments about fees, values, wages etc extremely tedious ( mainly due to the lack of any real basis to the views) the amount we have to spend on new players is undoubtedly linked to sales, ffp etcAm I the only one who couldn't really care less how much we sell and buy players for? And a happy fan base if it all goes to plan. If it doesn't however.....Well, after the months and months of chat and opinions fair to say it's a huge week and a bit for Jeff and his team.
Brave call to end Nuno's reign and put in a man who they want to play an attractive, attacking style of football...that part seems to be there but now they have to back him and provide him with some tools to push on. If they leave Bruno with this squad then have fucked him over and a lot of questions need to be asked and new jobs for some people. Here's to Jeff having things lined up to go this week and a happy Bruno on the 1st September.
I'd drive him to N17 myself for that money. For someone that runs very fast but delivers next to nothing that's incredible money. Talk about hype.
I know he does it for clicks but that’s dreadful even by his standards.Wolves line up £7m bid for Cardiff City star Moore - Sources
Football Insider can exclusively reveal that Wolves are lining up a bid of around £7million for Cardiff City striker Kieffer Moore.www.footballinsider247.com
If I had the time I'd compile every link Wayne has drawn out of his head. Eventually one might be right I guess!
No one has managed to do that Jinks and it isn’t like Adama is 19 or 20. He is what he is and I think we’d be mad to turn down that money for him as his end product in front of goal is just not there. 2 goals in 41 games is a performance stat to his ability in front of goal. Two separate people have come up to me at work this morning and essentially said if Adama could shoot he'd be one of the best players in the world...
Ultimately, he does what no other player can do. I don't think we can afford to let him go. The key is for Bruno and his team to make him more consistent in front of goal with his decision making. A lot has been made about his brain not being able to keep up with his feet - and i never felt confident that he was going to finish his 1 on 1 yesterday - but if he'd just thought to knock it around Lloris, it would have been a goal. We're a better side with him in it, rather than him out of it, that's for sure.
Agree with all of this. I like the way we are looking to play early into his or Trincao's feet though, or Adama in behind. Quite refreshing after last season.I know he does it for clicks but that’s dreadful even by his standards.
Looking at the game yesterday I was intrigued by how little heading Raul did or got himself into position to do. Our long balls aren’t up to him as a target man and most balls are into feet or in the channels.
I think we need a Jota type forward who can be that alternative predator in the box as well as playing wide as an alternative to Raul who is clearly feeling his way back into things.
