There wasn't a horrible tackle, there was a tackle. Up there with Robinson did SEB in myths
Not sure I'd call the latter a myth; in my memory Robinson very clearly pincered SEB's ankle with way more force than was necessary.

Robinson absolutely nailed Kightly twice. Once it didn't cause an injury, once it did.

The SEB one was nothing. I hate the boss eyed cunt as much as the next man but no blame there.

Just the once...he won a free kick on t'other one
Oh for God's sake. Of course he did. The most inexplicable decision this side of the Kevin Francis penalty.

Just...how.

He was being a cunt in that game. Big fan of hearing later how Tom Ross called Bothroyd rubbish when he came on then he scored.

Didn’t think the five pages to catch up on was going to be about how many full backs we should have!

I think Marcal will benefit from a proper pre season in terms of injuries, so he should be available more than last season (mind you he’ll probably still get injured at some point).

For the record, I would rather sign RAN than Robinson, think there is more potential in RAN

They're 20 & 23. Robinson has more experience than RAN.

It's better than one young LB who HAS to play the whole time. They're both youngish, stands to reason they'll go through bad patches and need to be taken out.

I am looking forward to some more activity over the next few weeks and then we can see what shape the squad is in. I am hoping that Lage will have a larger nucleus of quality than Nuno's trusted 15.That would make injuries less of an issue. I still do not see any real Raul back up unless we are keeping Mir? In fairness, he can be no worse that Willian Jose and is already ours. If rumours are correct , Rui should go pretty soon , so that will mean a new keeper in (Sa i guess then). We may well start the season with 5 new names on the team sheet for Leicester.

I think we need another ticket price sweetener. A little vaccine top up

Happy with that price really. Its realistically the most we could get for him at his age.
I've seen a lot of people happy with that price, I guess because he's got a year left on his contract?

My issue is if we spend a similar amount of money on someone like Sa (who I think is a decent enough keeper), I'm not so sure it is good business overall. If we get the Fiorentina keeper who is highly rated and younger, would make more sense to me.

Exactly, it's only good business if we replace him properly. I don't think Sa is a very good replacement.

Yep, you can't judge the Patricio sale without the context of the replacement. The money is only decent if the new keeper is, although I don't have an opinion on Sa

It's a false economy though, Sa isn't coming here to play for bus fare and he's objectively a worse keeper. It's the one position you don't mess about with if you can help it.

I've seen enough terrible keepers (hi Carl) to be thinking this is a good idea.

I wouldn't say he was a particularly stand out performer last season though (not that there were many), and I reckon him and Joao were signed to supplement a young and inexperienced squad as they've both played top level football - which is something we don't necessarily need as badly anymore as most of our current players have now reached those heights (well, they've played Europa and International football).

If we replace him with a keeper who is more comfortable playing out from the back it might support a move to 4 at the back better. Don't know whether that is Sa though.

Sá is hard to judge for anyone as nobody is realistically going to have watched much greek football.

I don't think the no caps thing is that important either as he has been called up for the senior squad but you're not likely to change the starting keeper too much - if I was the Portugal manager I could go and watch Sá play for Olympiacos and still have no idea where to benchmark him against his peers as he is playing in an inferior league against weaker opposition,

Patricio circa 2018 was fine. Patricio 2021 was not and , while other areas were/are more of a priority I think that SA is likely to perform at least as well as Patricio circa 2020/21. Whilst you would not say that goals were directly his fault , there were a significant number that he could and should have done better with. I wish him luck at Roma but I will not be tearing out any of my locks over it , even if Sa is the replacement. I do agree that "cat weasel" from Fiorentina is the better investment.
