Arsenal and Spurs have added players to their first team squad. We have not. We’ve also sold a player from our starting 11 and have another out with a long term injury (this hasn’t been mentioned on this thread yet, I think...)

For three sides that were “on par” at the end of the season, it’s fairly obvious we’ve now fallen behind.

Nuno can only work miracles for so long.

Regardless of whether a glut of signings come in this week (we are on Wednesday now so let’s say that’s not happening), they won’t be ready to start in our first game* and if they do, they won’t be fully prepped to the system & style. At this point I’ve absolutely no idea what Jeff Shi is up to.

*yes, I know Leo Bonatini got off the plane and started v Boro at home 3 years ago but we all know that’s not the normal Nuno way.

I think it shows that on TWF when things get jumped upon as OTT, unrealistic, deluded or just plain incorrect, it's a lot more to do with who's saying it than what's being said!

Not just Leo though is it. All of Patricio, Jonny, Boly, Neves, Moutinho, Jota and Jimenez went straight into the team. Ruddy, Douglas and Miranda too in the Championship.

Well, this is all getting a bit silly now, isn't it? Our recruitment dept has so far found 3 players for Grasshoppers and a new goalie for Shrewsbury. Meanwhile Dion Sanderson is heading out to the Championship again. Villa have paid the same - or possibly more - for Matty Cash as Spurs paid for Doc. A couple of injuries on international duty and we are well fucked.

I'm with you, Jinky. Without Dalrymple and Thelwell Jeff Shi is rapidly looking like a man who couldn't wrap up a cheese sandwich, never mind a deal
