Summer 2020 Transfer Window (Extended Version)

We are a long way short of Liverpool, MC, MU and Chelsea but just as one injury could derail our season if Spurs lose Kane or Arsenal lose Aubamayang they will be within sight. Not ideal relying on other club’s misfortune but they are miles ahead in terms of budget, particularly wages. A couple of signings and we won’t be far off 6th place.

Yeah, as I say, it depends on what we do. We need 3-4 players (maybe even 5) to keep moving forwards, let's hope we get the right players in.

I know what you guys are saying but you're having your cake and eating it really.

We're making assessments based on where we are now, but you're factoring in them having injuries and us making game-changing signings to justify nudging us ahead of them. Its just way too much guesswork stacked in our favour

As it stands, we're two important players light of last seasons finish, and both Spurs and Arsenal, once they'd steadied the ship from difficult regime changes, finished well enough to take both our chances of Europe away.

As it stands we have catching up to do with them, not the reverse!

There are still cultural issues at most of those clubs - I don’t expect them to all suddenly be brilliant, regardless of their signings.

When I say about them catching up, I'm talking about from the end of last season.

If we go through the season with this exact squad that we have right now, there are big problems I agree. I just think there will be signings (there can't not be really), and it then depends on those signings being ones that improve us.

They don't have to be brilliant to finish above us, that's the discussion here.

Arsenal are not two players behind us, as it stands on 2nd September. No way

And we don't have to be brilliant to finish above them or Spurs, neither are fantastic sides.

Maybe I didn't explain well enough, or you are taking my point a bit too literally. My initial point in response to TT was that we were a better team than both last season (IMO). That is where Arsenal for example had catching up to do for this season, to bridge the gap to the level we were at last season.

As it stands, literally now on 2nd September, sure we have some bigwork to do with Jonny injured and Doc sold, I think we are probably on about par with both those teams in terms of ability. You may think we have slipped behind, fair enough at the moment especally as our squad is looking very thin right now. Both Arsenal and Spurs have glaring weaknesses still to sort out personnel and in broader terms of how they are coached.

Spurs like us could struggle if Kane (Raul) gets another injury - he only completed 29, 28 and 30 PL games in his last four seasons. I expect Wolves (subject to signings) Arsenal, Leicester (due to Europa) and Spurs to be in their own mini league so your main source of goals potentially missing ten games or Vardy on one of his dry patches will provide opportunities for the other teams to capitalise.

OK you're entitled to your opinion, the goalposts are being changed now and I don't want to drag this on as it's run its course.

I think it shows that on TWF when things get jumped upon as OTT, unrealistic, deluded or just plain incorrect, it's a lot more to do with who's saying it than what's being said!

A left back as well! Just trolling us now by signing one and sending him away...

Well, I am bored so whilst I wait for the BT Man to pop round and sort out my phone lines/broadband I am doing some proper random Twitter searches.

This dude seems to be ITK...(insert rolling eyes here)

For those who need Google Translate for that (like me)

"I have a journalist friend in the telegraph, the digital version, and apparently Bielsa wants if or if De Paúl (we have a percentage of the sale) and NuNo opened the ok to sign Correia and another central, Diakhaby was on the table but you don't want to leave here"

Theirry Correia really isn't very good...

Ha, Diakhaby and Correia are just the easiest to link us with from the Valencia mess. I mean, it wouldn't surprise me, but so easy to say at this point.

Good to know AI hasn't made me obsolete yet :icon_lol:

Are you telling me that isn't a direct accurate translation and Bielsa doesn't want an if or if and NuNo hasn't opened the ok?
