Don't really like McGeady.

Aboubakalakar is far too good for The Championship.

McGeady has been on fire for Preston recently to be fair to him.

4 goals and 8 assists according to ESPN. Wow, didn't realise he'd produced so much. Also didn't realise he's 30!

McGeady way past his best? No chance. The last area we need to strengthen (pending outgoings of course) but he'd be absolutely fine here for 20 odd games a season.

The McGeady of Preston this year would be a very good signing. The uninterested one from Sheffield Wednesday last year an awful one.

Rather than PL being a known admirer of Aidan McGeady, I'd like him to be a known admirer of Jordan Graham

We have no idea if Graham will be anything like the same player when he returns. Ditto Zyro.

Very true - I'd just like him to have the same opportunity to prove he's the same player that Dicko has been given (although I concede that Dicko has played more games than his form has warranted because we failed to sign a striker)

If fosun are serious in their medium to long term ambitions then there needs to be a dramatic increase in quality recruitment both on and off the pitch. How many windows does Thelwell get? How many chances do 7 or 8 of the current squad get? When does the penny drop that a quality striker, centre half, central midfield and real left back are essential as is a true commanding goalkeeper. OK a number of the current squad can be effective squad members but their current status as autopicks needs an urgent down grade. We cannot put faith that Zyro, Graham, Dicko will return to pre injury form or that Batth Edwards,Doherty,Seville Ikeme, will ever get better than they are now. They are in their career terms ,as good as they will ever be and that is never going to be enough to get us out of this league.

^^ This, rumors are they didn't get along at Villa, Lambert has a reputation for isolating players he doesn't like for whatever reason.

Graham......Dicko.......Costa
................Cav..................

This has to happen at some point and I will be gutted if Graham doesn't get a chance to show what he can do again.

I agree with this, but if Lambert does already have a poor view of Graham which appears to be true from his Villa days, then getting pissed and not being able to train the week you join in with the first team for the first time in over a year is pretty bloody stupid.

I'd like to see us go for Carey of Plymouth argyle, plays at CAM and always seems to get 15+ assists and 10+ goals at that level so could be worth a go here

Too many parallels with Jed Wallace IMV.

Yes not a good way to get into the good books. There was a mention of him from Lambert doing "alright" but not being quite ready for a friendly not sure how much we can read into that. I am also sure he knows how good he was for us last season so would be stupid to overlook him.

Fingers crossed if he's 75% of what he was then he's good enough to play.

I assume we'll sign Weimann on a permanent, he seems to be doing well lately and he won't be expensive so it makes sense.

Other than that I want a striker and a centre back first, then a left back and a central midfielder but only if they are a definite upgrade on what we have. Oh and if we're not going to use Iorfa then get rid and sign an actual right back so we can stop playing a shit midfielder out there.

If we lose Cav and Costa then replacing them will be extremely difficult but a big priority.

I think we only lose Cav and Costa if we dont do business and business early in the window. GK,LB,CH,CH CF all required as is a new DOF. If Lambert is to stay then Fosun must back him in those positions.

End of the season replacements permitting Batth & Doc are toast. I think we need 1 top GK, LB, CB, CM (box to box) & a striker. With Graham coming back and Ronan, Bright & MGW we will have a decent squad.

Lambert said 4 signings but I wonder if he sees the weaknesses we do.

Weimann is hopefully a done deal but I want another in the Chris Martin mould.

I would have taken Chris Martin, Wood, McCormack, Rhodes, Tammy Abraham, Cummings from Hibs. Any of those or 2 of those would be good for next season.

4 more players of Costa's quality and we'll be laughing
