He was a youth coach for a year at Dundee Utd before levein left, then stayed a further three years. He then got the rio ave job because he did his coaching badges with nuno, and became Newcastle assistant manager under mclaren. Not sure Craig levein had anything to do with any of it?

Either way, he did badly as a manager but is a very highly rated coach - im not sure why you seem to take him so personally?

Levein had a lot to do with it. He's been touting him around to anyone who will listen for years. It's not some huge secret, speak to anyone involved in the SFA in any capacity and they'll tell you the same. He's been fast tracked way beyond his ability.

Cathro is an oddball, not quite Magath levels of strange but definitely on the way there. Watch an interview or speak to anyone who has met him and they'll tell you the same.

I think 1 more striker in and that will be us done. Might not see that signing until the end of the window.

I think one other but probably later in August. Still - an 11 signing summer, and they all look like much better business than we usually manage. Delighted so far.

I've not read anything as clear and concise on the subject than your article.

It's incredible just how many supposedly respected journalists don't understand the subject.

Not sure there is to be fair DW. It seems there are not that many articles out there about FFP because 95% of people don't understand how it works and can't be bothered to find out for themselves. Your article summed it up nicely and made sense for those that have bothered to read it, i bet Fielden didn't.

He's also retweeted Chris Powell saying that he basically thinks Neves will struggle on a Tuesday night at Millwall and in the local derbies. Yeah the Porto games vs Sporting and Benfica have nothing on them.....

I have a lot of respect for Chris Powell, but I'm not sure as someone employed in the same league he should be casting cynical aspertions on other teams' signings. Even did the 'Millwall on a Tuesday night' line, which incidentally last time we went there we won with Saunders as manager. Alex Bruce is just a muppet. I do believe this season will not be average I think we'll make the play offs or, go spectacularly wrong....time for a poll
