Renewals

Renewing or not?

Said all along this will probably be my last season, but still can't decide, daughter and son wants me to renew and they are regardless of what I do. Precious couple of hours spent with them every other week is priceless. Totally torn.

I’m a no. And it’s with a heavy heart.

As others have said - I can afford it - it’s principle.

My love of football (not necessarily Wolves) feels like it’s slowly dying……there’s plenty of stuff in the game now that I fucking hate.

Not saying I won’t go to a few games, but my ST is well and truly cancelled.

It’ll be back with new owners.
So your joining the membership scheme and getting on the waiting list? Unsure how many would take up offers at present but may be a few years before getting back to the top?

You'll renew, deep down you know you will

You won't need to be a member for a few games unless we are top half

Imagine if we said in 2019, when we'd just qualified for Europe and had a genuinely very good team, it would be £39 per game for STHs behind the goals.

I can't buy this "I have no choice" argument, you do have a choice and by proxy you're endorsing what the club is doing if you renew.
Careful dismounting your high horse.

You do what you like, but please tell me how it isn't an endorsement of what they're doing.

They're charging it because they think people will pay it, and as it turns out they will.

When the prices were released I was a hard no. As the days have gone on I've gone through the inevitable talking myself back into it stage but right now I'm still leaning heavily towards not renewing.

I'm in a better position financially than I have been for years and could easily afford it but if I did renew I'd struggle with a couple of things.

A) The guilt of renewing. As Deutsch says, it's absolutely an endorsement of what they're doing if you renew. I'm still obviously tempted to renew as I absolutely love going to Wolves no matter who our owners are but I'd feel pretty fucking ashamed of myself if I did end up caving.

B) A lot of my mates aren't going anymore. I stand next to StanHullis in the South Bank and he's not renewing. There are loads in the group we meet up with who either aren't renewing or are in the same boat as me where they're undecided at this stage. A family friend of mine is renewing but won't be able to make as many games as this season as he lives in Scotland and is going to be a grandfather for the first time in September. He's offered to split the cost of a ST with me so I can go when he doesn't... But that's no fucking good either! I want to go to the football with him, not on alternate match days!

I've had a look at season tickets for my local non league club, £240 at Leamington in the National League North. Quite tempted to do that instead. Also using 'Man Maths' I'm tempted to use the money I'd save not going to Wolves to go and visit a few more grounds in Europe. Stan Hullis and I went to Braga vs Porto a few weeks ago to see João Moutinho play one more time (he was effortlessly classy as usual) and I'd love to do more of that.

If I had a Season Ticket, I would not be renewing.

I’m starting to become disillusioned with the club whether it be VAR, Bs excuses over PSR, a lack of paint around the ground or the price hike.

There are other ways to go to games without giving Fosun money for membership.

Don't think there will be much of a waiting list in the Championship.

I gave up my ST at the end of 22/23. Personal circumstances made it not viable, but I'd already missed a few games that season due to various reasons, one of which being 'can't be arsed' - if I didn't have something come up on Saturdays I would have renewed last summer, I wouldn't have done this year though at the new price point

Mate, with respect, I don’t know how often you go and watch a bang average Wolves side but it’s far from impossible to get a ticket.

It’s not Glastonbury.

I must have misread your post, thought you meant to get a season ticket again, I know people who have been on the waiting list for years and not offered one yet.

I have renewed but am very unhappy with the price rise. If my son did not love going, I wouldn't have renewed at this price.
I am divorced so the Wolves match is a very important day for me and my son.

Love Wolves, hate the way the game is going (VAR / pricing out people etc). Its always been an unlevel playing field but its just getting worse and more pre-ordained.
