O'Neil Confirmed

it should be Hassenhuttl but I can only assume he didn’t apply in the first place considering he didn’t get it (unless he is employed somehere else)
That's a fair shout, this team would suit him much better.

It might not be, but performances aren't getting worse which is what a few are saying as though its fact?
So when on Boxing Day and we’re on 10 points and cut adrift we stick with him because the next might be worse. Initially comes back to don’t make a dross appointment first off.
Very familiar pattern is emerging here the two quality managers we’ve had were ousted and left because of speaking up and seeing what future held.

It's not GON's fault he's here but he is terribly out of his depth. It's not going to 'come good' it's just a matter of when not if. If he's still here in November it's very unlikely we'll be able to attract another Lop to rescue us.

I'd love to be proven wrong, I really like the idea of a home grown young up and coming manager, but that's not GON.

So we also went Lage to Lop, thereby disproving your point
OK, with all the noises out of the club over the last couple of months do you genuinely believe they'll improve on GON if/when they sack him?

Surely they'd have done that if they could have instead of hiring GON?

Hassenhutl has been mentioned, but surely they'd have gone for him instead of GON?

Hobbs is as naive as GON. He's learning a very hard lesson right now.

Sometimes you make a mistake. Happens.

Well if Jeff is telling the truth (stop laughing at the back...in the middle and everywhere else) the next manager will have money to spend in 2024.
We can upgrade again...

We’re just so fucking hard to watch now and have been for 3 seasons. Being in the PL is great but by god the absolute desperation to stay in it by all involved is a mental drain to watch, not saying I want a Championship return but the last 3 seasons since Lage got involved have been hard.

I understand the point you're getting at, but Fosun entropy is complex and sometimes hits upon the right thing at the right time by accident. For every Zenga and Lage there's a Nuno or Lop...One minute we have no money, then the next we do.

I'd be happy to roll the dice and see what happens when the time comes... we won't really have a choice anyway, it's worse keeping a poor manager too long imo

McKenna and Schumacher look really good prospects although I confess I don't know how they'll do this season and it's too early for them to come to us right now.

We're better than Sheff U, Burnley, Luton and Everton.

It's next season I worry about.
We weren't better than Everton last week. You need morale and team spirit to stay up if your coach isn't good enough. We don't have them either.

It’s just not that simple though on paper yes but reality is we could easily come below 2 of those due to attitude, tactics and bad luck.

We are but is GO tacticaly good enough to finish above all 3?
I think so yes, we beat Everton on their own turf last week.

None of the results have surprised me so far?

Lost to United away - expected
Lost to Brighton home - expected
Beat Everton away - expected
Lost to Palace away - expected

Obviously we should be beating Luton, and a point v Villa and Bournemouth the others anything is a bonus.

Villa should smash us. Expecting nothing from that one

FFS losing at Palace isn’t expected at least if you get things right. If we’re throwing in the towel at Palace then that’s about 13-14 away games that are a write off. It’s also the expectation of a club that are nailed on for relegation.
