Next Manager chat.

He'll have the opportunity to match Peter Shirtliff's unbeaten record. Nothing more than that though.

Biggest concern for Rob is will he still have a job when the new man comes in

I would think Rob Edwards will end up with a P45 soon as well. Fosun have done a little bit of keeping people about and dropped Walter in. This time I expect a substantial clear out.

Walter made the call on Rob, he could have binned him, Mountain, Daley and co but decided not to.

Silva drifting in betting. BFS and Gianfranco Zola shortening

Who is Paki Ayesteran ?

The betting as usual when it comes to football managers usually tells you nothing unless it's already common knowledge. No one has any idea who we are going to appoint.

Right decision to boot zenga.. Hope they get a good longterm replacement soon

Translated as some buffoon in a bookies has put a fiver on. Most of us on this forum know full well how easy it is to manipulate manager odds markets.

(As an aside Vis - if you even consider trying to push a Hoddle comeback I will drive down the motorway, kill you, and then resurrect you just to kill you a little bit more.)

I'd agree with that - but the dramatic shortening of WZ's odds was a pretty clear sign. And I can't stop myself looking...

Why not, he should be able to get our attacking/creative players going

The only time to pay attention to the odds is if someone comes out of absolutely nowhere to favourite, and then betting gets suspended - usually indicates inside knowledge from the club slipping out ahead of an announcement. Until then, as Paddington says, it's just random fivers and tenners shifting things around.

Because he was a winger?

Where a player played generally means naff all when it comes to coaching/managing

If we're talking pie in the sky, available now, would be an insanely good appointment, then Dieter Hecking.

If we're talking a rung or two down that scale and slightly more plausible given previous links, Marco Silva.

I definitely do not want Allardyce and I can't see us taking a shot on anyone currently working in this league.

Deutch - what about AVB ?

Giggs apparently came across pretty badly when he was interviewed for Swansea

Giggs is a massive no. His 'analysis' on the friday night football at the start of the season was enough to put me off.
