New Manager Search *BACK ON*

So when do we expect a new manager to be in place? Obviously too late for tomorrow, and likely too late for Tuesday also now. New manager in by Leicester game?

Regardless of the Lopetegui situation, its quite ridiculous we are going into this vital run of games without a manager.

I think some people are overlooking the importance of this.

We're literally playing the two teams below us and the team directly above us in the next three games with youth team/League Two management at the helm.

We've now spent nearly two weeks on chasing Lopetexcuse and the floundering aftermath of that inevitable rejection, and I couldn't tell you what the plan is

There is no plan. We are making it up as we go along.

The comparisons to other teams such as Nuno at Spurs is just wrong also.

They were doing their recruitment in the summer and had the guy in place for that start of pre season still. Basically they had time to mess around and still got it done on an acceptable schedule.

They then sacked Nuno mid season and got Conte in 2 days later…

If anything the Spurs situation proves we are shit not “the same as other clubs”

We have to accept Jeff Shi is a clueless prick.

I notice the accounts that were backing Lage and Shi have fucked off.

Whilst it is frustrating we haven’t got a new manager in yet I keep reminding myself that no manager - or Steve Davies - is better than Lage.

If at the end of the process we get the right man it will be worth the wait, however if we end up with someone who was available when Lopetegui turned us down heads should roll.

My use of Spurs was to highlight how inept they were in their handling of their situation, right from the sacking of a serial trophy winner 5 days before they had a chance of winning a trophy

They got to number 9 on their list before they got their man and he was the wrong one.
They had 2 accept it then turn it down and 1 accept it and then they had to retract it because the fans went mental at the thought of the appointment.

Its not to excuse us from being shit but whichever way you look at it, they were appalling in their manager hunt.

As it stands though, we have identified a clear number 1 and went all in on him but he said no (by all accounts for reasons we can't control).
Not having a defined 2nd choice is appalling though and to start a "normal" manager hunt In October, when you are deep in the shit and have a pile of games coming up being led by a man who last managed at Crewe is shit.

Spurs manager hunt before they got Conte was shit
Palace's manager hunt before they got Patrick was shit
Everton's manager hunt before and including getting Rafa was shit
Our manager hunt is shit but with added we are being shit at the worst possible time, rather than before pre-season starts.

Why was it inevitable, and do you think the club should be telling you personally what their plans are, I've never been privvy to the selection process of any one in senior management wherever I've worked and that was in no way as surreptitious as selecting a new football manager

For reasons we can't control, but for reasons we should have known. His 92 year old father didn't fall ill last week, Ballegui said he wanted a break on Thursday, he wasn't ever coming, Shi wasted a week or so conning himself he would and here we are.

Surely disappointment is par for the course in Burton? We usually go to Sherwood Forest.
Miller & Carter in Burton has always been pretty good whenever I've been. In fact I'm going again in December for a Christmas party.

Without going over old ground, he should have sacked Lage after the City game and had a 2 week international break to appoint a manager. He has wasted way more than just a week

It’s almost as if finding a manager when isn’t as easy as many think. The proof of the pudding is in the eating, but I share the concern on many that we’ll end up with the equivalent of Instant Whip that was available three weeks earlier.

Well, I know fuck all and I called it!

It was inevitable because a) he had previous bailing on us, b) he was ending an involved and intense relationship with Sevilla and would obviously not just slide seamlessly into our shitpot, and c) it dragged on to the point where you know the longer it goes on, the further from 'yes' it gets.

In terms of 'knowing the plan', I don't mean in the sense of having direct access to the business plan and knowing the minutiae of boardroom dealings, more a sense of an overarching football design that managers can fit into. A club-wide idea of how we want to play which is shared and promoted by senior management figures and players on and off the pitch, and clear to fans.

Brighton, for example, obviously have this, you knew after Potter left they weren't going to do a stylistic u-turn and just hand it to some dinosaur, or overpromote one of their ex-players from their past

Whatever your thoughts on Nuno, he absolutely has to have a better chance of success than Sean fucking Dyche.

The bloke is an absolute fucking moron.

Lopetexcuse. Very creative from you PK..

Anyway here are the latest, who are people chucking money at to be the next Wolves manager list. Fair to say, no one has a bastard clue (and I will include the team doing the actual search for him)

Love Nuno, don’t want him back though. He left for a reason, and managers/players going back on the whole doesn’t tend to go well

Not sure who to go for as don’t know a lot about those being touted, other than a Google search. All I know is this squad should not be where it is, currently.
