I guess it’s about options when we’re discussing Nuno.

And right now, I don’t see we have many.

Why go all that way when he could have just popped in Miller & Carter last night?
It was Nuno in the toilet with Jeff not the boss man of Al-Ittihad....have another coffee Lupo

I bloody love the guy but I don't think this is a good idea in isolation. If it's him, dyche or Edwards then clearly it's the best option, but that doesn't mean it the right thing to do.

It's also pretty fucking embarrassing from the club and we'd get some absolute pelters

I find it quite unbelievable that Jeff Shi has somehow managed to demonstrate year on year that he is completely incompetent in his role (and somehow getting worse!) but here we are.

I was also all for Julen Lopetegui, but I think now he's done us over twice, I'd stay well clear moving forwards. I can see a scenario in the future where it's "third time lucky" and we eventually employ him, but I'm not sure I'd go back again. Obviously we all know Mendes will make it happen at some point, be it 2-3-4 years from now.

I don't mind Dyche, but certain managers would work at certain clubs with certain squads; and there's no way the likes of Nunes, Neves, Guedes, Podence etc respond positively to Dyche yelling in their faces. That's a hard pass for me.

Nuno would be the proverbial "safe pair of hands". He knows the club, the area, the fans, the importance of the connection between all three. He knows many of the players, and I would trust him to set us up in a way where we are hard to beat but also capable of scoring goals. It's very, very likely he would come here and play with a back 4 too. I think he's got unfinished business here. The football under him in the final season was atrocious but there were so many factors to consider and I reckon he wants to come back to right those wrongs. I genuinely didn't think it would happen because in order for Nuno to come back, it would mean Jeff Shi has to admit to being wrong, and we know he doesn't do that; but I've just seen the tweet that Kenny has shared from Nash and it actually looks like it might happen!

Finally, I went to a Miller & Carter that has opened 2 minutes from my house last weekend (they closed a very popular Harvester and opened a M&C there instead). I can confirm it was shite. Had to send the steak back. Asked for medium rare, but it came out dripping in blood. Then heard the waitress moaning because I'd sent it back. Still left a tip, cos I'm a mug.

Short term he can unite and galvanise the squad and organise a group of very good individuals to actually win some games and pull clear and then reassess? This suddenly feels like its happening

If Edwards is genuinely being considered then Nuno is like a gift from the gods compared.

The problem is that if edwards is being considered the club needs a complete overhaul from top to bottom on the non-playing side. Every single last one of them needs to go, and until they do we’ll be doing stupider and stupider things till we implode.

Nuno appointed, loses his first two games and sacked anyone?

Without going over old ground, he should have sacked Lage after the City game and had a 2 week international break to appoint a manager. He has wasted way more than just a week
The sheer arrogance of the prick is astounding.

If true I think it'll prove to be the wrong call for several reasons in time, but I can't deny part of me would be pretty emotional seeing him at the helm again.

Proves (as if we needed proof) that Shi is a buffoon
This is where I'm at. I think we'd be gambling on Covid football not really counting. I think there's definitely something in that, but not everything. There's been a significant turnover in playing staff since he left, so it's not as simple as picking up where he left off. He was set up to fail at Spurs, but with a team built to play a more expansive style of football he couldn't do it. He'd get a heroes reception and that might carry us through the odd game eg if he'd been appointed on Monday I'd be confident we'd win tomorrow.

I have also lost some respect for him managing in Saudi aswell.

So we're guy who becomes single and instead of being reflective, playing the field and trying to find a fulfilling partner, tries an embarrassing and tone-deaf punch above our weight and then finally rings an old ex blubbering and hoping things have changed
