There's nothing to say Dyche is an option, just someone on here and social media saying they'd like him.

Alan Curbishley is available.
I didn't say I'd like him. Just prefer him to bringing Nuno back or picking another makeweight because there's no one else available like they did with Lage.

As we all know, there seems to be a vocal minority of anti-Nuno Wolves fans online, do we think any of that is likely to translate to match day?

Much as I love Nuno, him taking the Saudi pound has taken a bit of the gloss off, I must admit.
He will probably donate it to the Feed the Pack when he returns and we will be all over him like bad rash again

Thought about this a lot before posting as I really did not think Nuno would ever be in the frame.

But you know what? The more I think about it, the more the prospect excites me. I bloody love the bloke. Crucially, he's the ONLY Wolves manager in my time as a fan who has left before I've wanted him to. Yes, I know there are arguments to the contrary and I respect those, but I didn't want him to go, I believe there were extenuating circumstances for our poor form in his last season here, but I'm adamant that he would have turned it around if he'd have been here last season.

A huge bonus is the affinity he has for the club and the city. FFS, the guy was semi worshipped during the best times, he's given so much to the city, he's got an honorary degree from the university. And there's the rapport with the fans. I guarantee that IF he was to return, the reception in his first home game would be incredible. Nuno gets our fans and that's a pretty rare achievement.

Also, you can make the point that it's a step back. It certainly shows the Lage era was a mistake but I don't give a fuck about 'redemption' or any other crap like that. if they bring him back and it works out, fantastic. We all win. (Except Streetly who wouldn't know what to do with himself without a daily dose of abject negativity....) Anti-Shi sentiments don't matter to me if we're winning games and the club look like investing in the team again. We've got the latter (against my expectations!) and we badly need the former.

Would Nuno be my first choice? No, he wouldn't. Would I be happy with his appointment? Yes - having thought a lot about it, yes I would.

Coady currently trying to find his Everton contract and rip it up and sneak back in to Compton

I'd be fully behind Nuno if he gets the gig, I would hope everyone will.
Not sure it's a good idea re-employing him though, hope I'm wrong.

I don't think so as there would be a LOT of positivity which would drown out any negativity.

Moot point anyway. If we start winning, the place will be rocking again, the opposite if it goes tits up.

Fans am fickle ay they.

I don't think so, Lage got pretty much no stick at home games, despite us being horseshit for months, him being a complete nobody who alienated senior players and talked gibberish.

The tolerance levels are quite high.

I wouldn't object to Nuno coming back given the predicament we find ourselves in.

But we really should be moving on as a club and until we get a proper DoF in and cut ties with both Mendes and Shi (and probably Fosun) that isn't going to happen.

If Nuno does come back it shows how much Mendes is running this club, embarrassingly so.

Well summed up Langers. When this was first rumoured, much as I loved Nuno, I was against it but like you, Nuno was the only manager I was gutted to see go. All the others were past their time, even Turner and Mick. I keep thinking of the atmosphere should he return will give everyone a huge lift and that first win, him fist pumping the SB (I sit in the Stebe Bull but still love it), something we have sadly missed during the Lage era, a man who made little or no attempt to endear himself to the fans, couldn't have been more different from his compatriot.

I really don't care who 'runs' us if we win games. Genuinely. Not bothered.

I wholeheartedly agree that a shake up at the top of the club is badly needed, because that sort of impedes the 'if' in sentence #1 if it doesn't happen!

A competent head coach is a decent first step mind you.

Do we think the plan is or is this making shit up in my head as usual

Nuno in and his many many many men and also Rob Edwards (or similar)

Then if Nuno goes we have 1 man in place to step in on an interim basis rather than moving U18/21 coaches up a level or 2

Will be interesting to see if we get a rendition of “Nuno had a dream” tomorrow.

I know there were at least 3 grown men with 'dust in their eyes' at the last Nuno Utd game. If he does come back I reckon that might happen again to at least one of them.

It might go horribly wrong but, fuck it, dreaming is for free.

There was one (separate to the 3 you are talking about for legal clarity) that got so emotional on the day it turned him all racist for 5 minutes

I think most of us know, realistically, that Nuno coming back probably wont end like we want it to. However, I loved him so much when he was here that it wouldn't be hard to get carried away if he returned.

I'd rather we went in a new direction but, fuck it...Nuno! Nuno! Nuno!

I think the reception he’ll get will be on the whole be very good. His success is still fresh in the memory, not like he took us down just had a bad season with huge mitigation involved.
Certain players won’t be allowed to coast like they’ve been doing. He’s probably thinking “what the fuck have you done to the defensive unit?”
Will we score more? Could we score any less?
Will we be harder to beat? Yes
He’ll start with his priority of getting points on the board and moving away from the bottom 3.
