Loan Watch 2016-2017

EEL scored a last minute winner for Sheff Utd last night. He does seem to be doing well there, but I hope we use it to maximise his transfer fee and make it permanent in January rather than being kidded into believing he could be the answer here.

From midweek;

Ethan Ebanks-Landell (Sheffield United) - Another full game for EEL and a last minute winner, a fine first-time finish with his right foot 10 yards out to give the Blades a 1-0 win over Bury.

James Henry (Bolton) - Came on for the last 15 minutes in a 1-0 win over Coventry. Nearly scored with a shot that went narrowly wide.

Aaron Collins
(Notts County) - Came on as sub after an hour but couldn't help prevent Country from losing 1-0 at home to Cambridge.

Ethan Ebanks-Landell (Sheffield United) - Played the full game in a 1-1 draw at Charlton. Looked like he was doing the Mannequin Challenge for Charlton's goal, rooted to the spot as Bauer nodded the ball in.

James Henry (Bolton) - Came on for the last 20 minutes or so in a 1-0 win at Northampton.

Aaron Collins (Notts County) - On for the last half an hour in a 3-2 defeat at Barnet. Made little impact.

Ben O'Hanlon and Bradley Reid (AFC Telford) - No place in the squad for either of these two; O'Hanlon has just become a father and presumably Reid was injured.

Paul Lambert due to attend Sheffield United v Walsall on Tuesday evening to run the rule over Ethan Ebanks-Landell. #wwfc

Chances of this being Lambert's answer to our defensive woes? :facepalm:

In fairness our defence is shite and we have a player out on loan who's doing well and who's loan side want to make it permanent. It would be remiss of Lambert to not check him out.... as long as he comes up with the right answer

Blades have played EEL at right back a few times recently...

Doherty - Batth - Iorfa/Hause - EEL. :bananasex:

He looked a better RB than Doherty for us in L1.

To be fair so does everyone else - your suggestion of Coady there is far more sensible, the only reasonable games I've seen him play was on the odd occasion he's been forced into the back line. Not asking him to do things he can't, just has to keep his position & kick/head the ball away.

Coady would just have to try to control the ball and it will fly away to safety

i'd rather see Coady as fullback instead of Doherty

It looks like he's been on the right of three central defenders in a 3-5-2/5-3-2 depending on how the game is going.

Looks like Lambert cursed it, first loss for the Blades at home since August.

EEL got caught a bit flat-footed for the goal and the forward crept in between him and the other centre-half. Not the best advertisement for a recall to the first team.

EEL and Henry were both left out of their squads as their teams met in the FA Cup at the weekend.

Aaron Collins came on for the last 15 minutes for Notts County while O'Hanlon played the full game for Telford (Reid is injured).

From last week, which I typed up but didn't post;

Ethan Ebanks-Landell (Sheffield United) - Played two full games this week, first helping the team to a clean sheet in a 4-0 win over Swindon and then a 2-1 win at Coventry, amid the protests against Sisu, to leave the Blades in 2nd.

James Henry (Bolton) - A late ten minute cameo in a 4-0 win over Gillingham. Bolton now also riding high in League One.

Aaron Collins (Notts County) - On for the last 20 minutes in a 2-0 defeat at home to Wycombe and was unable to contribute anything. No win in six now for Notts.

Ben O'Hanlon and Bradley Reid (AFC Telford) - A full game for O'Hanlon while Reid was subbed off after an hour in a 4-0 defeat at Kiddy.

Odoffin is on loan at Eastleigh.

Odoffin seals Spitfires loan move

Eastleigh have completed the loan signing of Hakeem Odoffin from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Hakeem started his youth career at Tottenham Hotspur. He joined Wolves in January 2016 after making the move from Barnet.

Odoffin, who is 18, will link up with The Spitfires for a month.

The move is subject to paperwork being completed.

Cheers. Updated.

From this weekend;

Ethan Ebanks-Landell (Sheffield United) - No game for EEL after the Blades played on Thursday.

James Henry
(Bolton) - An unused sub as Bolton lost at Chesterfield.

Aaron Collins
(Notts County) - Also an unused sub as Notts County's rotten run of defeats continued.

Hakeem Odoffin (Eastleigh) - A difficult debut at Southport which saw him get sent off for a professional foul with 20 minutes left. Eastleigh lost 4-3 in the end in a game which saw three red cards. Declan Weeks grabbed one for the hosts.

Ben O'Hanlon and Bradley Reid (AFC Telford) - Much like the last game, a full game for O'Hanlon while Reid was subbed off after an hour n a 1-1 draw at Halifax. Reid sounds like he puts himself about a bit, getting into a scuffle and picking up a booking.

Ethan Ebanks-Landell (Sheffield United) - Another full game and another clean sheet for the Blades with EEL at the back. A routine 2-0 win that leaves them a point behind leaders Scunthorpe.

James Henry (Bolton) - An unused sub again as Bolton beat Shrewsbury 2-1.

Aaron Collins (Notts County) - Yet another defeat for County, at home to Doncaster this time. Collins made a 5 minute cameo at the end.

Hakeem Odoffin (Eastleigh) - Suspended after last week's red card.

Ben O'Hanlon and Bradley Reid
(AFC Telford) - Reid notched Telford's equaliser in a 1-1 draw at home to Alfreton, a fine first-time finish from a cross. He was subbed 10 mi minutes from the end. O'Hanlon played the full game.
