Let's talk about Nuno....

I think Potter fits the bill. Their problem is they have mince strikers. Give him Neto and Raul and I think he'd get us playing some decent stuff. Brighton have a decent defensive record too.

Potter would be an interesting experiment but it could blow up in your face. Wilder similar, he got far better football out of his United squad than he should have had any right to but it ultimately fell apart. Both could conceivably achieve more with better players but ultimately have no track record higher up the table so become something of a gamble.

Nathan Jones, please God no-one make the joke I don't understand, perhaps a warning sign the league below. His Luton side were entertaining and overachieving, look to be performing well again now too, but he was awful for Stoke in between.

Read a blog on Infogol a while back, where they have Brighton as one of the best teams in the league - just been chronically let down this year by poor strikers

Are you saying he should pack his bags? Maybe all he needs is a little time?

We finished above Arsenal and level with Spurs last year, so, yes, I absolutely do think it's reasonable to expect us to be competitive with those clubs, particularly given the resources our owners have.

We should at least be in the Euro mix, and perhaps we would have been, without injuries, but I wonder if there's something fundamentally wrong with the wider set up at the moment. Why is Nuno suddenly bereft of ideas? Why have the players turned into a pub team? Why are all our new recruits duds? Has something changed behind the scenes that has affected everone's motivation? Can't blame everything on Covid, and injuries have been around as long as football. This club had been running like a well-oiled machine for three seasons since Fosun took over. This year it's more like a well-oiled stag party.
Best post of the thread and only one like .

Nuno deserves far more respect that some of you are giving him.

He got us up on 99 points, we finished 7th and 7th, even this season will be our higher finish than any other manager got us.

His latest interview regarding the number of injuries and changing his thinking to have a bigger squad.

Nuno has my full backing even if we lose on Monday by a bigger margin than McCathys last game.

In Nuno I trust to take us higher and higher.

Which posts do you feel have been particularly disrespectful?

Tbf this is a thread discussing Nuno's current state of mind and performance this season. It would be a dull thread if everyone just gushed over him and his past achievements, significant as they are

Feels like the right place to pop this but Pedro Martins (Olympiakos coach) is apparently being lined up as our next manager. Not necessarily for next season though.

That’s a change in style!

From Nuno’s Catennacio counter attacking to Martins’ Gegenpressing 4-2-3-1.

When the time is right, I hope that's the way we go tbh, stylistically. Whenever I've watch Porto the last couple of years domestically I've been really impressed with their insensity, with and with out the ball. Not seen anything of olympiakos, so can't comment on him.
