Leicester City (H) League Cup Rd 3 25.09.2018

Why are we so shit at penalties?! :icon_lol:

That’s a real shame because I feel like we’re really difficult to beat in 90 minutes and could have gone a long way in the competition. Just that we’re shocking at penalties!

Wow. We are shocking at penalties. Ashley-Seal was the only one who showed any composure whatsoever.

That shootout was fucking abysmal! So was last year's v Citeh. Fucking awful

Can't argue with shootout stats. One scored in 7? Over two seasons?

Keeper made some good saves tbf. He was going early and we were just telegraphing them.

Maybe, but "disgrace" and "ashamed of themselves" after the start we have made to this season is frankly fucking appalling stuff.

I give precisely zero forks or figs about this result. My disdain for the so called League so called Cup is well documented.

Yeah that was a bit strong, but no one likes losing, at home ever under any circs in any competition.

But they were some shi t penalties! I forgive Adama, but Saiss and Jotas really sucked!

Pretty underwhelming game in the end, neither team really bossed it at any point and looking at the state of the penalties you'd be wondering if either wanted to progress at all!

Reassuring performance from the defence from Wolves' point of view, looks to be plenty of depth there if anyone has to miss games for any reason you wouldn't be worried about Dendoncker or Hause coming in if they perform like that, midfield didn't give the same confidence though, obviously Neves and Moutinho are a step above but the MGW/Saiss partnership didn't really exert much control at any point. Difficult to judge the attackers to any great extent due to that lack of control, their involvement was pretty sporadic and so there was understandably some fluctuation in their productivity, though will say that Jota once again disappointed when he came on, was like one of the performances from around last Christmas when he got a few knocks and looked more interested in picking a fight than anything worthwhile.

Should be seen as an opportunity wasted I'd think given that Leicester struggled to take control just as much as Wolves, though think that central midfield area was the key to changing things and not sure what Wolves really could've done to change that with the players in the squad. Would be interested to see MGW given a chance instead of Jota if Traore is still deemed too erratic, he was much improved towards the end of the game as he grew in confidence beating players and running in behind but still looks a little lightweight for a midfield two to me.

Our last two major honours.

Just saying.
Very, very, very different competition then. I would have liked to have won, but ultimately we played a second 11 (or 9+2) and have treated the competition as a squad fitness exercise for years and years, as do most other sides

Not a huge fan of comments like this after we lose. We should want the squad and club to progress as far as possible in all competitions.

Disappointed with the result, but I understand the need to change teams arounds for different competitions.

Jota is disappointing too, but I know he can do better. Let's he puts the worst days behind and gets back to showing what he is capable of.

Looking at who's left in it, we could have made a pretty good stab at winning the damn thing.
