Ipswich 0 - 1 Wolves (As comprehensive a 1 - 0 win as you will see)

Spent the afternoon with the home fans, thanks to my son's Tractor Boy flatmate. To be fair to the lad, he took the defeat well and took us to some more than decent watering holes before and after.

N'Diaye was immense, always available and strong in the tackle and on the ball, a view validated by the cries of "gerron the number 4" from behind us. I don't think he was offering transport advice for after the game. Jota made a number of telling runs and Doc also stood out for me, although it looked like he'd been told not to cross after last week. If Bonatini 's volley had gone, it would have been difficult to keep quiet.

Back on track, up to the others to make up ground in midweek.
Good spot on Doherty, he was back to his old game today, none of this shit crossing from the last few weeks.

We were bloody good today... Ipswich never troubled us and that volley by Leo deserved a goal

Leo somehow looked faster. Everyone get to Marbs

Absolutely. Everyone is under threat in the summer. Boly, Neves and Jota (if they're all still here) will be the most secure of course.

Totally agree. With the ambitions this club has I don't think there should be any player feeling like their place in the team next year is safe.

You could see why Bialkowski has been pos for the last two years. Excellent keeper with a great performance. Good on the one on ones today. Shows we can play football on a boggy pitch. Good, deserved 3 points. Nice atmosphere too.

Love Jota's touch to take the ball down perfectly onto his weak foot. Quality. Shame the shot didn't go in ay.

Charlie Nicholas raved about that touch. He may despise us, but he clearly rates Jota.

Another quote from that Ipswich thread after the match on Saturday:

"They (Wolves) are miles ahead of Bournemouth, I can't think of any side coming close. Maybe that Reading "106" side?"

I was drinking with some Town fans pre and post match and they do seem a surprisingly rational, if resigned, bunch. We were almost back to our best in the second half, I thought. Neves uncharacteristically misplaced a few and maybe we missed Saiss commanding the middle, but we never looked troubled until the injury time scrambles. Would have had a couple of cracking second-half goals on another day, though, which would have put the issue beyond doubt. Cav MOTM.

Thanks to DW & Tredman for the supporter no. loan. A good day out and not that bad a view, despite being the worst in the place. The stadium looks like it will fall down any minute, though. Makes you realise how lucky we are in more ways than one.

I know I'm late to the party here but can we just talk about how fucking gorgeous the move for our goal was??
