Ipswich 0 - 1 Wolves (As comprehensive a 1 - 0 win as you will see)

Ballscowski had a blinder and made some ridiculous saves.

That is why it was close at the end, not really poor finishing.

We put some good moves together, Alfs shot from the edge of the area would have been a beaut if it had gone in.

Ipswich forums..
"wolves play more hoof ball than us"
"wolves arent that good, Norwich came and played better"
And apparently that was Ipswich's best performance of the season!

They still lost :icon_biggrin:

Sounded so comfortable on the radio even if it was 1-0.
As has been said bounced back with a win, over to you Villa, Derby and Cardiff.

Finally a great performance again, not that I was ever worried. Would always bet on this team to do well against one of Mick's though - not up to playing the physical, destructive game like Cardiff, QPR etc, and always playing a bit too expansive, frequently leaving an average defence in trouble.

Costa was really lively in the first half, Jota probably better in the second. Neves with a few ridiculous long balls as usual, Alfred did well too and gave us a bit more movement in the middle than we've seen recently. I'll stick my neck out and say that Boly is the best defender I've seen in a Wolves jersey.

Their goalie (Bart, was it?) had a blinder but we have to find a way to be more clinical in front of goal. Yes we won and should have won by more, we lead the league by an obscene number of points, and so on and so on... but that stuff - Jota's hopeless pass to Costa (?) when it would have been easier to score being one - is going to cost us many, many points next season when we just won't have as many chances. There probably isn't a quick fix to it, but those final minutes of desperately clearing one cross after another when we should be out of sight is just not good for my blood pressure...

Just been looking at how close we really are to getting there, already we are well on course to finish with over 100 points however with 7 more wins we would be on 86 points, Reading finished 3rd on 85 points last season or win 10 and we are 1 point ahead of Newcastle's finish with 95.....One thing I am sure of is that we will win more than 7 games with 17 games still to go!!

Hard not to get carried away, what a wonderful season this has been so far.

6-7 more wins and we'll have promotion secured IMO.

Spent the afternoon with the home fans, thanks to my son's Tractor Boy flatmate. To be fair to the lad, he took the defeat well and took us to some more than decent watering holes before and after.

N'Diaye was immense, always available and strong in the tackle and on the ball, a view validated by the cries of "gerron the number 4" from behind us. I don't think he was offering transport advice for after the game. Jota made a number of telling runs and Doc also stood out for me, although it looked like he'd been told not to cross after last week. If Bonatini 's volley had gone, it would have been difficult to keep quiet.

Back on track, up to the others to make up ground in midweek.

Even if Neves and Saiss is our preferred pairing, I think N'Diaye has earned a contract here, if he wants it.

I don't think he will want to stay. A season as a 4th or 5th choice will not appeal to him.

How does he fall down to 4th or 5th??

There are a lot of areas we should be looking at before CM...

As Penk says, upgrades in the Summer. Alf isn't 1st choice now and will fall further down the order if he stays

If your want to succeed in the PL you can't just strengthen perceived areas of weakness, you also make strong areas stronger. Thats how you build success.

Absolutely. Everyone is under threat in the summer. Boly, Neves and Jota (if they're all still here) will be the most secure of course.
