General Wolves News

Jota can still shoot and score(sorry) he announced he's going to be a dad, around the same time as neves #feb2021

I guess they had nothing better to do in May because of the lockdown...

It seems like there's been a fair few wolves clubs recently

Neves X 3
Jonny
Raul
Diogo

Any others?

DailyMail reporting that the Premier League have turned down our request to delay our return.

No shock really. Why should we get 7 extra days after a 13 month season.

Presume the Manchester Derby will be on match day 1 to allow them to postpone and not include other clubs in the extra week off.

They'll be back in training by the weekend then. I think next season is going to be a slog, unless we freshen it up with 2/3 new players before it starts

I’m expecting a flurry of Giggs style “niggles” in the international break before the season starts.

With infection rates rising you would hope the idea of bringing people together from the four corners of Europe will be shelved. I’m not sure it would be considered essential travel and therefore should not be exempt from any quarantine requirements.

Our League Cup opener is going to be a good run out for our U21's ahead of the Checkatrade Trophy

Yes, I think the way they've structured it puts pay to any chance of us taking it seriously.

So having had the longest season, we now end up being the club with the shortest break between the 19/20 and 20/21 season.

Are we all not starting back on the same weekend then?

Man City and Man Utd get an extra week due to when their Euro games were. We needed to get to the SF to start a week later.

Wolves and Chelsea were pushing for all teams in Europe to start the same week, regardless of progress and we put forward a Wolves v Man Utd and Chelsea v Man City scenario for the opening weekend. So those games would be postponed and no other teams affected by it.
Looks like the PL are just sticking with the Manchester clubs having a delay of 1 week. It would now be just like them to give Man City and Man Utd games against Villa and Palace (for example) on match day 1 and give 2 random teams an extra week off.

The Manc clubs finished 4 (City) and 5 (Utd) days later than us. I don't see why their extra week is an issue personally. For Chelsea even less as they finished 3 days earlier than us.

More the fact that the rest of the Premier League finished up a full 2 weeks earlier than us.

Their extra week isn't an issue as such. We just wanted the same after a slightly longer season. Chelsea were grumbling weeks ago so we used them to try and get our team that extra week by showing if all 4 teams are on the break, then it makes no difference to anything if we make sure they are down to play each on match day 1
