Euro 2020

I didn't watch the game, but apparently Mings was a complete bombscare yesterday which I'd imagine played into it.

I missed a shaky moment from him in the first minute yesterday as I was looking away but heard the commentary but apart from that it was a text book Mings performance. Lots of pointing, tried to clatter someone, got dragged into their half and left a gap behind him.

I may be controversial here but if it is going to be a three, then I'd have Coady in the middle however if Southgate is looking to have James/Walker at RCH and Stones in the middle then I wouldn't have him in the side. Mings may get the nod if that is the case or White if he is comfortable on the left.

White looked composed. He steps forward with the ball more comfortably than the other CH's we have in the squad and by doing so relieved some of the pressure of the press that the Romanian's were try to impose.

Is Mings in the squad purely as he’s left footed? Not sure there is a fan in the PL who would rather have Mings in their back line over, Dunk, Tarkowski and probably even Webster and Dawson. Yet those are no where near the squad.

White was way better than Mings, but thats a low bar. I think Gareth might surprise us and we will see:

T-Rex
James - Coady - Stones - Chillwell
Rice - Mount
Sterling - Foden - Greasy
Kane

In a three I'd be going:

Walker - Coady - Stones

With James and Shaw as QBs.

White and Stones I would be less worried about than if Coady or Mings were in it I think. Not that you’d expect him to start the first game.

busquets tests positive for covid. wonder how the spain squad feel right now?

If it's a back three then I'd rather play Shaw at LCH and Chilwell at LWB than play Mings. He is awful, gets so much wrong every single game.

In the game v villa last november, the south bank sang "if mings can play for england so can i" at him, and he laughed. maybe he knows it too?

He also laughed when he tried to maim Adama and got booked for it. Fine, take one for the team, everyone does that (except us vs West Ham), but it was so unnecessary.

We scored 10 seconds later. Sprout faced twat.

Hold up. Andriy Yarmolenko now has 40 international goals. How is that even possible?

The most one trick of one trick ponies. Like a Championship player trying to copy Arjen Robben.

More surprising that he's managed that many appearances between injuries, always thought he looks quite useful when he can actually run.

Always love a left back letting a player like that cut in, as if they've never watched any video clips ever.

On the opposite side, Scottish defenders used to let Jörg Albertz shift it onto his left, playing at LB/LWB/LW. Er, he's going to shoot and score from there, you know.
