Euro 2020

Always love a left back letting a player like that cut in, as if they've never watched any video clips ever.

On the opposite side, Scottish defenders used to let Jörg Albertz shift it onto his left, playing at LB/LWB/LW. Er, he's going to shoot and score from there, you know.

Blew my mind at St. James' Park watching Foley make that mistake up against Gutierrez over and over again. Expected so much better from him.

You get the same sort of nonsense against Grealish now, all he's ever looking for is the defender to commit to challenge then he shifts the ball and makes sure his leg ends up in the way. Just stand him up, how often does he actually beat a defender and run away from him?

I remember we let Sheffield Wednesday star Etienne Esajas do the same against us in the 4-1 demolition of them back under Mick. Wouldn't have been so bad but in both of their previous games he'd done exactly the same, think it was Stephen Ward up against him that day. Let him cut inside onto his left and stick it in the top corner, I knew exactly what he was going to do (just having watched the football league show the previous couple of weeks) but professional footballers and coaches obviously hadn't.

When teams played against us and we had Mark Walters. Exact same thing. Even worse because fine, you might not have heard of Etienne Esajas. Pretty sure Southend and Portsmouth players knew who Mark Walters was in 1994. Nope, exact same goal.

Didn't our LB keep showing Noone inside onto his favoured left foot, game after game...

England defence is to fragile to mount a serious challenge for this tournament.
Better sides will expose the poor decisions that are regularly made by our CH’s.
Group stages could be very problematic Croatia has dull draw written all over it and Scotland will always raise their game for England.

I'll get accused of having an agenda if I mention the Craig Noone phenomenon (to be fair, it wasn't always the same full back, but I didn't like either of them).

The worst bit about Mark Walters is we didn't sign him permanently, then he went to Swindon and we let him do the exact same thing against us, time after time.

And four third placed teams go through. One win will probably do unless you get battered in one or both of the other two games, which is never going to happen to England at Wembley.

Come on now. We're going to win the group anyway, we beat the Czechs 5-0 not long ago, Croatia are miles past it (we beat them in the Nations League since the last World Cup) and Scotland are shit. I would raise my game against Lance Armstrong if I had a bike race against him as I think he's a wanker. I'd still lose though, he's miles better than me.

I see all your points and take them on board, however we know football just isn’t that simple. We also lost to the Czechs away.
If we play anywhere near our ability v Scotland then we’ll win.
Coming 2nd might provide an easier path as opposed to winning the group.

Czech Republic away was a dead rubber for us, like Wolves losing 3-0 away to Sunderland.

We'll win the group and it won't even be close. Have you seen our competitive record at Wembley since McClaren did one? And most of it with miles worse teams than this.

Yep all recent evidence backs your argument, but England at tournaments in general do Chuck up some shite bar 2018.
Probably Uber negative as im dreading that game a week on Friday.

Not many group stage exits in my time and certainly not in a shitty "three points will probably be reet" format.

1988, 1992 (these two were eight team tournaments, so the very cream of the crop, although we were shit in both), 2000 (no excuses) and 2014 (which was a mental draw, Italy AND Uruguay, you're kidding me. Probably should have won those two games too).

Four of out 14. We'll be fine. Chill Winston.

Excited now, just wish tge Goveenment would stop fucking around and let Spanish holidays start.

I have the biggest (and Best) Sports Bar in Fuengirola, unfortunately there are next to no fecking punters.

We will probably only have 15-20 for the England games.
There are so few Scots and Welsh living here I will be lucky to get 5 in for their games.
Atill at least Me and my Staff will get to see the games.

Thought Greasy was superb against Romania, the penalty was superb from an attacking sence, between 2 people shift the ball and wait for the clumsy challenge.

I know on social Media he is.getting pelters from wolves, blues, and Albion fans, but there was contact, and if ypu watch Grealish you know exactlywhat he will do.

We need to find a way to play all our top attacking players.
Grealish, Foden, Kane Mount

Looking at this Poland won’t be any concern whatsoever. Rubbish performance.

Poland are AWFUL at tournaments. Won two games since 1986 and they were both dead rubbers when they'd already been knocked out.

Onto my second match, although I will be switching to the France game later. There is no way this Hungary team garner even a point in the group of death short of a miracle. Making Ireland look passable just now.

If Group F were a genuine shootout it'd be amazing, but the big three will all go through.

The guys at work are always so hopeful. But they have Lewa who is world class and everything else is barely serviceable
