In view of that I think we'd be better going with three in midfield and two up top. We'll probably actually go 3-4-2-1, so it'll be a midfield pair.

Dier and Henderson will likely be first pick in CM which equals zero creativity.

I actually think with the lack of quality midfield options playing 3-4-2-1 isn't the worst way to go. Do I think we will be able to execute it how we need to, in order to make the most of our star players? Nah. But then I feel the same about England playing any other formation

I reckon Southgate will surprise us and go with Glasgowolf's 3-5-3

Chris Smalling? Naaaaaaah. Would rather Maguire or even Tarkowski.

I think Smalling is out of the picture, Southgate has decided he doesn't like him.

Maguire isn't as good as he thinks he is but he does have some ability on the ball. And a gargantuan head. Seriously, the size of his swede is incredible. Joe Royle levels.

Maguire does seem to have a tendency to get caught ball watching and lose his man rather to frequently, I like him though, he's a good footballer just needs to sort out the concentration levels. Much rather give him a go than someone like Smalling who I've always thought of as athlete first, footballer second.

Swap MAguire in for Smalling and that would pretty much be my time. With Rashford, Lallana, Vardy as back up attacking options it’s actually not that bad a group. After that yes not much depth of quality but then I’d be tempted to look at younger players like Sancho, Foden, Mount etc who are all seriously talented young players

I'm all for experimenting but playing 3 right backs, one centre back (who can fill in at RB) and 1 left back in defence is just odd. To compound this he plays 1 very average central midfielder and 4 wide forwards.

It's just bizarre.
