Coronavirus

Just heard from neighbour, he son had a cough for a few weeks and tested negative throughout (15-20) LFTs, went to the docs and PCR positive. Went back home and did another LFT which was again negative.

I’ve had cold symptoms since Monday but thought nothing of it as I’ve had 3 negative LFT’s this week. I now seem to have lost my sense of smell but have once again tested negative on a LFT.

I’m going to have to get a PCR test now and I was supposed to be having my booster in the morning. It’s only been 8 weeks since I last tested positive!

Be safe over there, guys.

We were promised post Brexit that we'd be world leading.

No, I'm not blaming our Covid situation on Brexit, although a sensible government would have done better in 2020

I don’t imagine we will go into lockdown unless hospitilisations spiral. Combine vaccinations with a milder version of the disease and that should be impossible.

Current restrictions are designed to buy time (whilst also being largely pointless, but ‘looks’ like they are doing ‘something’). Hopefully in a week or two the situation is clear and we can get back to normal.

Be interesting to see if there's any drop off in testing now we're in into the period people will have to be isolating on Christmas day if they're positive.

There'll likely be a drop off in testing because no one has any kits...

Good, all the testing does seems to do is promote fear of late. 80,000 odd cases yesterday, but also 1.6million tests, so that's just 5% of people who think they might have Covid, having Covid!!

I'm sure 3 months ago people with cold symptoms thought it was just a cold when it may well have been covid and weren't getting tested.

Now they are getting tested with those symptoms, so of course cases as a result are higher.

I'd be quite interested to know of all the footballers testing positive, how many were fully vaccinated (as in Liverpool's case) and now many were showing no symptoms when they tested positive.

Think your 5% claim is misleading.

There will be a lot of people routinely testing with no symptoms or concerns. Unless though 1.6m are purely PCR test?

At the same time I’d say the vast majority don’t record their LFT result
