hard as the past few months have been, and continue to be, lockdown is effective.
just a shame that the attempts to "save christmas" probably created a much increased volume of mixing resulting in the january spike on nhs admissions.

Yep, which absolutely no one predicted

Lockdown is effective in as much as no-one is doing anything, you wouldn't expect the impact to be any different. The consequences of lockdown are awful. The fact that we've had to have three (and effectively four in many parts of the country) is fucking dreadful as all they do is buy you time. If you waste that time then it's absolutely criminal.

We're in this situation because of the absolute Horlicks they made of it more than once last year. I'm not going to applaud it because it's a bloody awful situation, I hate this and it's ruining my life.

Much/most of the media coverage throughout has been downright disgraceful resulting in some being stirred into a complete state of fear. After a lifetime of interest in news I have largely stopped watching the news and unfollowed Sky and BBC news apps.

And don't start me on the constant 'look into their eyes' ads on TV and radio

Seems the Pfizer Vaccine has some really good numbers on stopping transmission. Again all coming from Israel, where data is being released daily.

Also it seems whoever advised our Government on delaying the 2nd dose, even though Pfizer said 3 weeks between doses, has got it spot on.

Is that from Israel too?

I'm sure you'll appreciate sir that my post wasn't a celebration of lockdown measures. we are where we are due to the incompetence of the government in initiating unsafe measures too quickly. That graph of hospital admissions doesn't really go down after the summer. It plateaus, then rises dramatically.
I've started realising more over the past 3-4 weeks how drastically my own wellbeing has been affected, and probably for some months now, without me realising. Not at all comparable to your challenges, but I do empathise with how significant this all is for you, and others in a similar position.

The 'save Christmas' issue didn't need to as no one was forced to mix - gave up my choice of seeing family as could see what would happen weeks before they started flip/flopping on the rules.

It (hopefully) wasn't my last Christmas and there will be others - to be honest really not fussed what actual day it is anyway when I finally get to see my family at a social function.

Think all data is coming from there right now for Pfizer. Part of the approval for Pfizer meant they had to release data daily.
So, are Israel trialling/using a longer delay now?

No no, nothing to do with you mate.

More the likes of Fat Al and Prat Hancock starting to slap themselves on the back, absolutely fuck off. It's been a horrendous year.

Don't think they but they are flying through their population (not a massive population really, roughly 9m) so no need to do what we are doing

While I accept the need to slowly ease up on the lockdown, in fact look forward to it, I am a bit concerned that the majority of new cases are primary school children and the 18-24 age group which are going to be the first set of people released from lockdown.

Would you ever fuck the fuck off with rubbish like this.

"Here I spoke to a multi-millionaire to see how he dealt with endless lockdown". I somehow think he's alright, Rishi.
Kind of presume/hope his talk is how has he managed the staff at his many restuarants across the country and the impact the lockdown has had on the industry rather than a "well if you are down to your last few million, its always a good idea to move your TV career into a new genre" (I look forward to the posters on that)
He has had to use the furlough scheme for his staff and deal with how pubs/restuarants had to work day to day as at any point their doors could be slammed shut with next to no time to prepare.

Its odd that MP's delight in pictures of themselves in pubs, pulling a pint etc but from the start of the issues in this country they have royally fucked them. Remember the "Pubs won't close but don't go to the pub" quickly followed by "pubs will close on Saturday, but please DO NOT have one last drink" then Eat out To Help Out is used as the reason for the cases rising again (when infact most pubs/restuarants were the safest place to be due to the rules in place). Then of course the highly generous offer of £1000 to cover the doors being slammed shut in December.

How can it start tomorrow with Ramsey, if he's already sat down with him and had his cosy chat?

Either his or my education has gone to pot somewhere along the line.
