Coronavirus

And they won't cost the country an extra £10-20bn which getting some minister's pal/spouse to do it would have...

Not quite what they meant when they said flatten the curve is it

Back to the Pharmacy usage.

"Many have been asking if pharmacies will be involved in giving vaccines the way they do each winter for flu.

The answer is that some community pharmacies will be able to administer jabs – but certainly not all.

Some pharmacies just won’t have the space or the staff to be able to carry out the number of vaccinations required.

NHS England requires pharmacies to be able to store 1,000 vaccine doses at a time in their fridges and be able to administer at least 1,000 per week.

They also need to deliver those vaccinations seven days a week from 8am til 8pm, and there are requirements around personal protective equipment (PPE) and training staff too.

As a result, around 200 pharmacy-led sites are currently being assessed to see whether they are suitable to start delivering the Oxford vaccine, alongside more than 700 GP and community sites already up and running."

From the Telegraph

"Single-shot Janssen Covid vaccine could be approved 'in weeks' and help protect millions in UK
The UK has ordered 30 million doses of the Janssen vaccine, which uses similar technology to the Oxford jab"

Mass vaccination centres will include Robertson House in Stevenage; the ExCel Centre in London; the Centre for Life in Newcastle, Etihad Tennis Centre in Manchester, Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey; Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol and Millennium Point in Birmingham.
My aunt in Lancashire came out of retirement to help with this. She has just completed 22hrs of online training on how to administer the vaccine and will be stationed in one of the centres in Manchester

Wouldn't be a normal day without some sort of a fuck up.
Hancock visits a Surgery to mark it starting the roll out of the Oxford vac today but it can't because the vaccine delivery is delayed until tomorrow

Birmingham are due to run out of the Pfizer vaccine tomorrow and haven't heard when they're getting new supplies or the Oxford vaccine

Why did they even bother with the 3 week thing? Noobs

Is that getting both shots of vaccine in the specified time not months apart?

Back to the Pharmacy usage.
I use a pharmacy every month, was there this morning, third in the shop (only three allowed in) eight pharmacists behind the counter, still took 20 minutes to get my stash off the shelf and you want these people vaccinating the 30,000 people that live in Cannock ?

I don't think I want that Pharmacy doing anything as it fits the not big enough to cope with the demand, so you are safe waiting an age for your drugs and not having them distracted by vaccinations

Watching the bbc just before todays coverage from number 10, Sir John Bell was very positive about the vaccines and rollout and the fight against the pandemic......I'm just following him from now on

UK currently the most infected country in the World per capita...

Don't think it helps we're obsessed with cases and constant testing (not that I'm in anyway suggesting this governments handling hasn't been anything but shambolic). The constant testing and recording of cases is certainly useful at this stage but as vaccines start to really get rolled out there needs to be a shift away from 'cases' and to 'deaths/hospitalisations' to being used as the yard stick, otherwise we'll never come out of this hell of constant lockdown/relockdown.

Don't see myself as an aggressive or vindictive person , but sometimes.........ffs

Scumbag,

Sadly some people will always stoop lower than you'd think.

I had some call off a random phone number a couple of weeks ago asking if I'd had covid, or any of the family symptoms etc. When I asked 'who exactly are you as you're calling from a random mobile number' he put the phone down. Obviously the attempt at some sort of scam.
