so, said idiot rang me this morning confirming father has been confirmed with the virus, and paramedics have again advised the whole family to self isolate.I refer you to your recent comment about people being dicks. I've already had one person come to see me at work explaining they've been advised to isolate, so they are wondering what this means for their uni attendance.
Boris to start giving daily tv reports from today......not sure what they can tell us but hopefully will caln people down
Ibroprofen can weaken your ability to fight it apparently, although obviously isn't some sort of attractive agent like the batshit post.
I've had some medication I'm on changed because of a concern that it would make me more susceptible
They've been saying at work today that they aren't testing any more because of a shortage of testing kits. Just self isolate of you have symptoms.Just overheard a conversation in the office that someone is currently being tested for the virus and are waiting for the results...

so I'm being sent home to work from home for a week.
fucking idiot!
Two things unrelated.
My little boy is not in school because he has a cough and cold. It is a cold as he doesn't have other symptoms (fever, dry cough) and does have a runny nose, like you would do with any cold. The look on the teacher's face was one of horror and one of the parents earwigging (nosey cow) audibly gasped and took a step back.
The ignorance is staggering and just shows the general public, when ill educated and whipped into hysteria by a ludicrous media response, are utter cunts.
Secondly, in my local shop. Two customers, both in their 60's at a guess, had 9 toilet rolls each. First customer leaves normally, next guy is told by the shopkeeper that is his last purchase of toilet roll for the day. As it transpires the twat had been in twice already and bought a pack of 9 each time. It was 9:15 in the morning.
Ignorant fucking idiots.
Those people will probably never calm down, regardless - some people just love the drama.
QUOTE=playtheace;1316720]Was that year's flu worldwide too?
Im just shocked that i must have totally ignored any news and panic that was happening at the time.
Judging by disasters such as Hillsborough and Aberfan, the media should have been talking about days of multiple deaths for years later.

Not entirely sure but I would imagine it was fairly reflective of what happened in the UK.
The difference is that 2015 did not lead to legislation which further erodes our freedoms in fact if this legislation had been proposed prior to coronavirus there would have been public revolt. Much the same happened with the drone incidents at Heathrow and elsewhere. Create a problem, manipulate the reaction with the media etc and bingo you get your solution. As it stands you've got the sheep panicking and buying toilet roll who will succumb to anything just so they can be ' saved '. It's the 9-11 effect ...
Personally, I feel globally somehwere along the way we are heading for a mass revolt, a complete rejection of the system by the population and they are just putting in place measures to keep control of the proles. Plus it suits the ' suits ' to have the stock market crash every so often as it makes them money. As such in a couple months time this will blow over and the reporting will change dramatcially ..
