Coronavirus

Not entirely sure but I would imagine it was fairly reflective of what happened in the UK.

The difference is that 2015 did not lead to legislation which further erodes our freedoms in fact if this legislation had been proposed prior to coronavirus there would have been public revolt. Much the same happened with the drone incidents at Heathrow and elsewhere. Create a problem, manipulate the reaction with the media etc and bingo you get your solution. As it stands you've got the sheep panicking and buying toilet roll who will succumb to anything just so they can be ' saved '. It's the 9-11 effect ...

Personally, I feel globally somehwere along the way we are heading for a mass revolt, a complete rejection of the system by the population and they are just putting in place measures to keep control of the proles. Plus it suits the ' suits ' to have the stock market crash every so often as it makes them money. As such in a couple months time this will blow over and the reporting will change dramatcially ..

That's a pretty big conspiracy theory.

"The number of deaths in Spain has risen to 297, and there are 8,744 confirmed cases across the country, health authorities said on Monday. Just over 40% of those infected with the virus are currently hospitalised."

That last sentence is going to be the real issue, not necessarily the amount of deaths. Really difficult to see how any health system will be able to cope. The population won't stop having its usual health issues for the duration of the virus. This is why there's so much media coverage and apparently OTT reaction. Comparisons to previous flu epidemics aren't really relevant.

Over 40% of those infected are hospitalised? That is not helping my anxiety! I really need to stop looking at the internet...

Front line staff with symptoms who have self isolated will not be tested upon return to work

We're just having a massive chicken pox style party aren't we

I have found that potty training wipes are in good supply. Sod loo roll stay fresh with two sheets!

Don’t put those down the toilet as you will block the sewers, not a great thing to do when workers will be off work ill.

That probably reflects that a lot of people don't actually get tested.

Well there is at least one upside to Coronavirus

Amid news that over 70's could be told to self-isolate in the coming days, I've compiled a list of all MPs who presumably will no longer be able to attend the House of Commons:

Bill Cash (CON, 79)

BREAKING: European Commission president announces "temporary restriction" on non-essential travel to EU for 30 days "in order not to place more strain on our health systems". Exemptions for EU citizens coming home, commuters, health professionals, researchers

Just remember that would be 40% who have tested positive. Only the seriously ill / vulnerable are being tested at this stage.

Hmmm. So as the UK is no longer a member courtesy of this shit transition period no UK citizen can travel to Europe and indeed nobody in Northern Ireland can cross the border into the Republic.

Been rumours about the border being closed for the last day or so.

140,000 people lost their jobs in one afternoon (doubling the total unemployed) when bars and resturants were shut down and barely a murmur made of it, shows how much in the shit we all are.

The European Commission president, Ursula von der Leyen, said the EU travel ban proposal would not apply to UK citizens.

She told a press conference: “The UK citizens are European citizens so of course there are no restrictions for the UK citizens to travel to the continent.”
.

I know. Someone should probably mention it to the PM. Farage will be boiling that we are still being treated as EU citizens. This is not taking back control...

Bozzer says "everyone should now avoid social contact with others and stop non-essential travel to fight coronavirus. We need people to start working from home and you should avoid pubs, clubs… and other such social venues"
