Coronavirus

BBC the only ones really using the 70% as the go to number.

It is great news as this is the vaccine our Government have put the most faith in with 100m doses on order. So from this vaccine alone 50m people are set to get it. With the other 2, I think the total we now have (approval pending) is enough to vaccinate 72.5m people
What I listened to earlier (FiveLive) stated that its 90% effective with a half dose followed by a second full dose. It was 70% effective with two full doses. 70% is still high and, if I heard correctly, none of the ones who went on to get the virus required hospital treatment.

Yes I saw that too none out of 115,000 had needed hospital or had 'severe' symptoms.

Take them odds!

Apparently Baker is demanding a cost analysis of any new covid measures.

I don't recall him asking for such things when being a leading campaigner in the Brexit campaign.

Hospitality is going to be absolutely clobbered. For a change.

Fucking wankers.

Anyone else saw this nasal spray (on of which available already for £13.99 online) apparently reduces your chances of getting the virus by 78%. Protects for 5 hours.

Believe there's others in earlier stages that may offer longer protection/better percentage.

Designed to use if going into busier areas/public transport etc as an extra layer of protection?

I do worry about pub culture, not sure they'll be one left when we come out of his shite!

Not just the fact many many boozers won't survive it (especially the more traditional type) but also the fact the virus seems to have speeded up the Americanisation off the nations drinking habits. More people seem happy to have their shitty garden bars / gatherings at home / drinking at home in front of a tv box all day.

Even as someone in their 30's when I think back to all the pubs I've used that are now either 'apartments' or a Tesco it worries me for the future.

Be a few Desi pubs and a few 'bars' in town centre's that'll be ya lot!

It's not like I'm desperate for a pint or whatever. It's just you can't keep having months where NOTHING that is any fun at all is open. In the middle of winter. You'll kill people.

If people are that fucking worried about the risks (and it's not been an issue anywhere I've been) then don't fucking go.

What do you consider an acceptable death toll to keep hospitality going ?

(And please don't give ,me the "I went in a pub the once and it was fine")

What percentage of Covid cases is attributed to hospitality?

You could apply the same argument to "what is an acceptable death toll to keep schools open".

There wasn't a spike when hospitality opened in the summer.

But that's September? Everything was open in July and August?

Basically all that says is people spend their leisure time shopping and eating out, it's not exactly a revelation particularly with crowd events banned. People that have contracted Covid have done the same things as the rest of the population.

Agree. I am desperate for pubs to be back open, and not just for the beer. The social aspect of not meeting up with my mates or just striking up a conversation with another regular or someone I've never met before is what I am missing the most. It's a main part of my life, which I fear won't be returning anytime soon.

So Boris will have his 30+ MP's voting against him should the new Tier restrictions be true.

Presume Labour will back the Government to get them through because the media are already saying Boris has saved Christmas so I guess SKS will be wanting to avoid the likes of the Sun put his face onto the Grinch and labelling him the man who stole Christmas

Being reported that they'll tiers 1 and tiers 2 will have fans allowed in.

4000 or 50% capacity (whichever lower) in tier 1
2000 or 50% capacity (whichever lower) in tier 2

I've not paid much attention to the region figures of late how was Wolverhampton's trend going?

Chance that some of you could be in the ground soon.

or what will more than likely happen to put the cherry on the 2020 shitcake is the day before some of use can visit again, Wolverhampton will be put into Tier 3

oh and 2000-4000 inside Molineux whilst being great to be back will be a big back of shit
