There are almost 15k confirmed cases in NYC alone (it's over 25k in the whole of New York state).

They're heading for a disaster. It's as plain as watching Wolves under Saunders, seeing which way it would go and similarly you can't do anything, you just have to watch a complete moron wreck everything.

Cuomo has a decently tight grip on things, from what I understand. It's the rest of the country that I'd be worried about before NY and California, frankly.

Looking at the figures looks like Wolverhampton is the worst effected area in the country if you do it per capita, over 80 confirmed cases. Twice as many as Liverpool or Manchester which have larger populations.
Not sure why it’s the case.

It’s good you are doing this, the state can’t. In my town, we have 122 volunteers, a strategy group, a social media group, a volunteer co-ordinator group, links with local food banks and churches and are already responding for requests for help. The local authority support might start tomorrow but we’re not sure and they are supposed to be supporting us.

All this was achieved in two weeks from scratch by one woman who up her head above the parapet and put out a call to arms...but when you factor in safeguarding issues, health and social care concerns you realise that the state is going to have its hands full just looking after the vulnerable in our society. The rest would really struggle without communities coming forward to help each other.

Don't know if it's city wide or the police have just had issues with people flouting the regs specifically here. Seems we're getting closer to outright containment but I still find the whole stay in your homes over tannoy very Orwellian.

Where I live even if the police did come we wouldn't hear them as we live in the back of a block which is already off the road... Be interesting to hear if Tony got anything as we live in the same constituency. This was Littleover fyi TT

Most voters decided long ago who they will vote for next time - swing voters are fewer than ever. So it comes down to which side can best motivate its base, and Joe will do that much better than HRC did. I have to hope that it is one and done for lil' donny turnip, but the majority of americans apparently approve of his coronavirus leadership. Frightening.

They share the same base, but HRC was much more polarizing (and she ran an awful campaign). The primaries have shown that Biden has much more african-american support, and there is no way he could possibly be as bad in the rust states.

I too am a socialist (and as a non-citizen do not have a vote), but I would vote Biden 11 times out of 10 if the alternative was 4 more years of lil' donny.

I don't think I would agree that Biden has more support from black Americans than Hillary did... But I'd defer to any stats if you've got them.

Regardless, we can likely both agree that the "job" Trump has done in regards to COVID-19 is absolutely horrendous.

I'm a bit sceptical about the 'confirmed cases' figures, up till the weekend Telford and Wrekin was showing no confirmed cases but then last week it was announced a lady died in the Princess Royal on the 15th March

Confirmed cases is more a measure of how seriously people are affected in an area and probably the time since infection started, as the only testing happens to seriously ill people in hospital.

Where I live is classed as Littleover, right at the bottom not far from the A38. There were police driving around the estate yesterday afternoon apparently, but when I took the dog out last night all I saw was a couple of runners and an irresponsible couple of loved up teenagers
