Wolves / Covid-19

Not sure why Rangers are pissed off. They had a chance to win that league and then fucked it up after beating Celtic.
Rangers are permanently offended about one thing or another.

Wolves have been able to test 40 players and staff for coronavirus, as per PL guidelines. That's their
core group that can work at Compton Park.

Nuno has included defenders Owen Otasowie and Christian Marques in his senior squad (plus Oskar Buur, Jordao and Campana)

Interesting to see Marques bumped up. Presume the rest of the U18's & U23's are being kept away until their normal preseason starts as their leagues have been voided.

Hadn't noticed the U23s had been voided. Bit of an escape for them.

I'd love Otasowie to kick on, but not sure where he fits.

Might still be relegated I think. Last I saw was them saying they would decide at a later date if teams would go up and down, no idea if that has been done though

Its a shame its gone so badly for them, but I guess with Nuno having such a small first team squad its always going to be tough for the U23s.

I still think we are at the early stage on what we want from the U23 team. Said it in January we are probably a couple of windows away from having the flow from the U18's and foreign arrivals to cover the U23 team and the back up the 1st team without causing a huge issue to their results (and Jeff wants the U23's winning, he isn't one of those "well its game experience innit" types)

Good point, we do have some good U18s coming through. Its superb to see we actually have a plan and are implementing it too.

It is odd that we aren't bringing players through that are even remotely close to the first time bar MGW. Most of the players we've let go will be lucky to play at all in this country and that's not good for where we are as a club. Recruitment has been pretty poor for the last decade.

There may be a wider problem with academies in general in England with so little coming through to any level at the top, yet recruitment for PL clubs is easier to do with very little consequence to stealing players from non PL clubs for relative pennies. Inevitably these players that do go to big clubs are rarely seen again and lower league clubs are winding their academies up as they don't see the benefits anymore and that's just wrong.

Chelsea and Arsenal are the only two kicking this habit and I hope we're on our way to following their model.

Six positive Covid tests from 3 clubs after testing on Sunday and Monday.

What's the betting the positive tests are from those opposed to restarting?

Or they will use the test results to try to force a "null and void".

The whole idea of the early and regular testing is to make sure that when football does restart, everyone is "clean"

0.8% tested positive then that’s actually not bad at all, If anyone seriously expected there to be zero cases is being delusional.

That's what I meant but the post doesn't read correctly. I meant to say its early enough that they can be isolated and back before kick-off, so too early for those that have a positive to mean bin it off. Hope that clears up what I was trying to say in a mess of a way.

Of the six positive, one is Burnley backroom staff member Ian Woan, three at Watford which consists of 1 player and 2 members of staff. I don't know about the other 2
