With Wolves participating next round of the Carabao / League Cup to be drawn shortly. What hopes have we got that Bruno Lage and his small squad will take this cup seriously this season? Quite a few Championship clubs got knocked out last night through playing weaker teams. Plus when the top PL teams come into the competition they'll play a weaker team too as they have European matches + PL games to prioritize. So it would be our best chance to win a major trophy since 1980 imho.
After the great FA Cup run to Wembley in the semi final in 2019 wouldn't we like to do that once again or better? Yet will our Portugal international players be too knackered come January to even think about a good cup run. This will be a season like no other where PL teams must have large squads with the World Cup in between and all the other domestic and euro cup competitions to play for. It makes for a great opportunity for none top 6 PL teams in the cups this season if their managers take the domestic cup comps seriously?
