Wolves 3 v PNE 2 - a mental game verdict thread

If it's a loan then it has to be within the Championship for me (and we'll also need a guarantee that he's going to play where we'll use him - we could send him somewhere and he has a good 3-4 months playing as a #10...but we don't use one so that's of limited use to us). It's not easy.

Worth remembering that it's only a month since he produced an excellent and very important finish for us vs Barnsley. Game was going nowhere and that was a bit of magic.

I do wish the crowd would stop fucking groaning at him all the time. Happens before he's even released the ball at times and if I can hear the South Bank doing it from the other end of the ground and about eight miles up in the air....you can bet that he can hear it too. Pack it in.

As said - he has skills and is worth persevering with

Just not sure how much game time he gets with Jota/Costa/Cavaleiro & Bonatini in front of him (and they clearly are in front)

How about you look at the teams in isolation rather than as a pair as that isn't statistically significant. We should also really look at just the games in question. QPR away yields 2 wins, 2 draws and a loss over the last 5.

Of course the form is totally meaningless as both teams have different players to that of last season let alone 8 years ago when we last lost at QPR.

So yeah, you're talking $#@!.

actually if I am being pedantic , I am writing shit not talking shit. Lets hope your wise sagedom helps us to yeild 6 points from these two.

Too true..
I think he held on to the ball for a few seconds once on saturday and yet i read that "he kept taking ages to pass the ball" from someone....no he didnt.
When hes on his game, hes one of the few players (of ours) that can take the ball past people.

Agree with this. He needs to watch and learn from the players ahead of him. Cav is a great one for him to look at, especially for decisiion making and vision in the area and then add that to the qualities he has. Nuno clearly believes in him and uses when he can.

This time last year people didn't rate Cav!

Unless he was told to stay up top regardless because Nuno wanted to ensure we had an outlet for the counter. It wasn't as if the ball was in the middle of the park.

There's way too much speculation about his attitude from people who don't know him, don't work with him and are basing their assessment on barely any evidence.

He's a very talented 19 year old trying to forge a career and he is getting criticism from the stands but support from the club. I know whose opinion I would value more.
So you know him or work with him or are you basing your opinion on on your own speculation rather than what you see. I know he is talented that aint enough in this game. BTW I never boo and moan about players from the stands but thought I may be allowed an opinion on a forum so shared mine for discussion.

He's played a grand total of 29 first team games, how about we give him a bit of time to learn? He's probably the most talented attacking player we have had from the academy since Robbie Keane.

Bright has had some decent games this season but inconsistency and decision making are still problems for him. I think he needs regular football to develop and given our options now I would like to see him go on loan and iron out his flaws.

Our problem now is that because we are so good our expectations rise for whoever is playing, he will come good but he needs games.

At the start of his time with us I agree. Plenty of people questioning him (not having a go, just not sure) at £7m but by January I would say most of that was gone and by the summer we were all drolling over our forward options and who would have to miss out.

There are still a few who moan if he doesn't cross the ball as soon as he can like a Matt Jarvis clone.

Matt Jarvis was no advocate of the early delivery, took him about 20 minutes to line up his shitty kick and rush manoeuvre to get beyond the fullback.

Beyond the full back? He just used to cut back and float it in Fletcher's general direction.

Are we talking about the same Matt Jarvis? The man who pokes the ball to the byline and scrambles to desperately swing his useless left foot at it before it goes out of play.

Granted he'd occasionally try to cut back onto his right foot but I don't see how you could refer to either as an early delivery, he was always stationary before he set himself to put the ball in the box and that gave opponents time to get men back to defend.

My memory of him was that he always used to stand the full back up, cut back onto his right and put a shit cross in.

Looking back on it now Matt Jarvis was pretty shit wasnt he.
